Dr_Ruminahui
Great to have you back! Such breaks in hobbying aren't uncommon - I myself quit in 7th ed. because I hated the rules, frustration with the online forum I was then part of, as well as personal reasons... but returned again in 8th when my life was more settled, I had discovered B+C, and I liked the ruleset again. I think its great that you were able to return to your old army - other than painting a few models (a baneblade and valkyrie) I wasn't able to return to my imperial guard, but instead but instead began down my current path in painting various things purple for slannesh. Love your recent models, your skitarii in particular - so detailed, with wonderful contrast between the bases, the blues and the greens. The over heated rotary cannon looks great as well. A few of your posts above (here, and here) were in French (which violates the B+C rules that all posts be in English), so I ran them through Google Translate and replaced the French with that - you may want to go back and make sure the translation is what you actually want to say. Crevette
My browser is indeed set to translate into French by default. Even though I "systematically" use Google Translate, I sometimes end up pasting untranslated sentences. It’s quite a hassle, and I don't notice it because everything appears in French once it's posted. I assume—perhaps mistakenly—that the moderators won't hold it against me, since everyone has easy access to a translator these days—or, as in my case, the translator is set up by default... In any case, I apologize for any past or future errors. It is certainly not intentional... 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325481-dark-mechanicum/page/17/#findComment-6186154 Share on other sites
Crevette
I’ve finally understood the second part of your message! I hadn't realized you had directly edited my posts. Thank you so much! I never would have noticed otherwise! Thanks, and sorry again. I’m afraid it probably won’t be the last time... I also hadn't realized that *you* were the moderator... I’m hiding in shame... 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325481-dark-mechanicum/page/17/#findComment-6186155 Share on other sites
Dr_Ruminahui
No problem on all accounts - my posting about the language issue was to make you aware of it and because I don't feel comfortable editing members' posts without notifying them of such and, in circumstances like this, giving them a chance to change whatever I've put to make it truer to their own words. And yes, these things happen, so don't worry - try to avoid it, but when it occurs, I'm happy to do the swap (and let you know) where I notice it. I am a moderator, but in most things I am just a member like everyone else, so I don't make a deal out of it. Its shown by the fancy winged skull and the ++ CHAPLAIN ++ designation on the side bar, which were both recently updated. Don't remember what the skull looked like before (other than much simpler), but it used to be ++ MODERATII ++. I find the Chaplain designation kind of humorous as it applies to me, as a) my hobby projects are effectively exclusively Chaos and b) being an atheist IRL, but I understand that special treatment isn't warranted and it matches the board theme. In any case, nothing to feel shameful about, just something to be aware of. I've noticed the same issue with other non-native English speaking frater, most commonly (oddly) when they are quoting other posts. Crevette
Photo from April 19 and 24 Yes, I'm making slow progress on my exhumation. Here are the color tests on the Armigers and a piece for the Warlord... lol 1 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325481-dark-mechanicum/page/17/#findComment-6186512 Share on other sites
Crevette
Athanor Occulta, the Oracle of Westgan I didn't post many photos of my Warlord when I finished painting it several years ago. And since then, you've seen the latest updates to the beast: rust, fusion effects, damage repairs, the Warp Gate... In short, it has continued to evolve even though I thought the project was finished. So, I made a radical decision: to take the Oracle of Westgan out of its glass prison. Here are a few more serious photos, to finally do it justice. Because after all the work I've put into it over the years, I figured Athanor Occulta deserved more than a photo taken through the glass case with three reflections in it. And it also lets you see all the little details that have been added over time. Athanor Occulta — The Oracle of Westgan. Warlord Titan — Command Maniple and in action... 3 6 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325481-dark-mechanicum/page/17/#findComment-6187908 Share on other sites
Crevette
On April 26th, I was working on several upgrades for my Chaos Titans and Knights: a fusion effect on the Volcano Cannon (the effect on the Reaver had motivated me enough to try it on a larger scale) and a rust effect created using a new miracle product from Green Stuff World. 2 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325481-dark-mechanicum/page/17/#findComment-6189980 Share on other sites
