PLOG - My Deathwatch Kill Team for Kill Team

Hi guys,

I've been working on a Kill Team for the Kill Team Expansion, I'm looking to paint up a five man squad with 2 bikers.

I'm planning to create a diorama with them which will act as a display/transport board too.

I'm really (really) liking the new Mark 8 armour, which threw me a curve ball as I'd been collecting various chapter specific torso's, back packs and the like for eventually making a Deathwatch force, however I love the new armour so much I've changed my plan...

So my new concept is that when the marines report for duty they're issued with a set of Mark 8 armour (and Inquisitorial pattern bike for the bikers). They're allowed to wear the shoulder pad from their own armour (as I really wanted to use a some of the bits I'd been saving from the different kits). They're also allowed to adorn their armour with seals, trophies and honours they've accumulated owe the years of serving the chapter.

So here they are, looking forward to getting some paint on them, coming up with some names and a bit of background for the various members and figuring out the diorama.

KT1

The whole Kill Team.

BT

My Black Templar Biker with a Power Maul who'll be the leader of the Kill Team

WS

A White Scar Biker with a Power Sword

SW 1

Space Wolf Veteran with the Relentless Specialist Upgrade

RG

Raven Guard Veteran with Shotgun and Infiltrate

IF

Imperial Fist Veteran with Infernos Heavy Bolter and Reaping Volley

DA

Dark Angels Veteran

BA

Blood Angels Veteran with Shotgun

Hopefully get the Diorama assembled soon and some pictures up in a week or so. (Oh and if they look a bit wonky  the helmets shoulder pads and bases aren't glued on yet, plan to paint them separately)

Cheers for looking.

Thanks Brother Kortmer, there was minimal reposing on the infantry, a few arm changes on them and the bikers. The kits seem to have a fair bit of flexibility and seem a little bigger than the normal marine kits.

Oh and I modelled them with more rubble on their bases elevating them a bit to add to their size, I'm looking to do an Inquisitorial Kill Team as well sometime, which I'll paint and base in a similar style, and I'd like the Marines to tower over them.

They're looking awesome so far. They're just great figs and I agree the MK8 is really nice to look at, paint, and even assemble. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with them.

(The more I see people do up the bikes, the more I want to do a squad even though I'm not too big on them on the table top.)

Thanks Prot, I ''m hoping the Bikes will shine in Kill Team missions, no idea about full games though.

I really like how the bikes look though too, especially with all the added pouches and packs and the Inquisitorial farings and bolters.

Rough version of diorama

I knocked up a very rough version of what my display board for the Kill Team might look like.

It's hard to see because of the crappy photo, but they'll be standing on a slight incline in front of some kind of Imperial Shrine. I'm considering lifting the building up more on some kind of foundations with stops going up to the main door. See how that works out.

Diorama

I finished off my Diorama so now need to start getting some paint on it. I ended up 3d printing the base and sinking the models in, which I think has worked okay,

Now I've got to try and work out what to do to make the models stand out, maybe paint the diorama and bases in relatively light tones to contrast with the black armour?

Any thoughts?
