Burning of Prospero

It's clear nothing is coming out I think, otherwise that would have been announced when it was launched last week.

I expect the reason is really that they feel the story has been adequately covered by ATS and Prospero Burns, and there is not much more to add.

I partially agree. Is the box set getting proper attention through novel support? No. Does it deserve it? Heck yea.

You could easily argue that Calth was exceptionally well documented and didn't need supporting novels during the BaC release. Yet they found a very epic moment, during the rush to underground caverns, and expanded on that one moment in the war. That moment was really the end of innocence and there was absolutely no turning back.

It could be argued that there are equal moments in Prospero to concentrate on.

After rereading the Battle of Prospero from A Thousand Sons last night I don't think Gav can do any worse than McNeil turning an entire Legion into red shirts to show how awesome the Thousand Sons are

Actually I am re-reading A Thousand Sons and although I really do enjoy the novel and the depiction of the Primarch, I have to agree it is almost ludicrous how easily the Thousand Sons start blowing through Space Wolves with Warp powers. Of course the results on them is somewhat equally heinous in a weird way, but still. I do agree and that is my least favorite part of that story.

Like the Iron Cage, Eskrador and the "death" of Guilliman, I always had the impression that the fall of Caliban was part of the Scouring:

Offtopic correction: the "death" of Guilliman happened about a hundred years after the Scouring, fighting the Emperor's Children on the world Thessala. Perhaps you were thinking of Guilliman allegedly killing Alpharius on Eskrador.
