10th Deltic Lions and Ordo Astartes

General Strike

Alright, so after much discussion and time spent stalking around the boards, I have finally chosen and begun my project army, the Militarum Tempestus. I haven't decided how I'm going to theme my army, although I have a few ideas.

1. Is a gold and silver paint job

2. Green and Silver, cause it's a cool color scheme

So currently, I have used my left over bits from my DW box to make two Ordo Hereticus Inquisitors, both with Force Swords and Bolt Pistols with Power Armor, and some of my other DW and B@C bits to make two Crusaders. I have also placed an order for three Psykers, and a Battle Sister with Storm Bolter to round out that war band, alongside the first of 5 SC: Militarum Tempestus boxes.

So, my first 1000 points will be:

2x Ordo Hereticus Inquisitors: Power Armor, Force Sword, ML1, Bolt Pistols, 3x Servo Skulls

Warband: PA Acolyte w/ Chainsword and Storm Bolter, 2x Crusaders, 3x Psykers

Hellrain Formation

Commissar: Stock

MT Command Squad: Tempestor Prime, Medic, 3x Scions

Scions Squad: 2x Scions, 2x Meltaguns, Tempestor

Taurox Prime: Missile Launcher, TL Autocannon, Camo Netting.

CAD

HQ

MT Command Squad: Tempestor Prime, Medic, 3x Scions

Troops

Scions Squad: 2x Scions, 2x Plasmaguns, Tempestor

Scions Squad: 2x Scions, 2x Plasmaguns, Tempestor

Fast Attack

Valkyrie: Missile Pods, Heavy Bolter Sponsons

I will be priming and assembling my Inquisitors tomorrow, but hopefully I will be getting my SC and others within the next 14 days. Any advice on what color scheme you guys like the most will be helpful as well. I also had a question on bringing heavier firepower with my scions.

Should I go armored guard for the extra firepower, some vets and Leman Russ? Or I was considering a C:SM Armored Task Force or Lucifer Task Force which would both be very cool. Of course at high point games, I would love to bring a Scion painted Knight.

The 10th Deltic Lions are the Ordo Militant of the Ordo Astartes, drawing on resources of the Inquisition and Astra Militarum to watch over the Adeptus Astartes, and have been seen fighting alongside the Minotaurs and Red Hunters in conflict. While the primary purpose of the Ordo Astartes and the Deltic Lions is to watch over the Adeptus Astartes for signs of corruption, they often find themselves fighting alongside various Chapters against Xenos and Chaotic threats, finding great honor in serving alongside the Demi-Gods, and proving their strength alongside the Emperor's warriors.

Green and silver sounds good, you could mix some white in too for a complementary scheme :tu: Your list looks like a good start though I'd look to getting the CAD CS some toys.

Guard go well with Scions as you'd expect, also gives you the option to run the models as an Elite choice for them. Adding some other self contained forces can provide a more specialised approach but it depends on if you want to expand on them or not. I would recommend Guard personally, but be aware that it's often the start of a journey that you won't want to end :P

Looking forward to seeing your models get started :tu:

Actually, Solar Auxilia would be pretty easy to do while keeping your kidneys. Scions with skitarii Vanguard heads look the part pretty well. As for the tanks, well you could run lots of leman russes. As for the other vehicles, there's always chinese recasts, some of which aren't bad.

If you just keep to lasrifle sections, you could forego transports altogether if you wanted. Just saying you could do Solar Auxilia with only GW models, and have it look good and proper.

Unfortunately for now I play at a GW store that's strict on 3rd party. I have decided after seeing the rules for SOS and Custodes, as well as building some fun allies lists that I want to theme my Tempestus as an Inquisition force. I haven't been able to Prime because of the weather, but it should be clear for priming and painting tomorrow for my Inquisitors. With WarriorFish's advice in mind, I'll build my MT force, then the allies I want first(SM, SOS, Custodes) then start adding guard since I'm sure I'll get addicted to them. I'm going to do a Hellrain and CAD, then my first allies will be a knight, a Blood Ravens Skyhammer, then SOS once they're on EBay.

I'd like to note that I plan out all my purchases months ahead of time.
