HeritorA
Yeah bummed I spent 30 bucks on the ebook...the same as Mom!?! I almost was going to shell out 60 for the LE...glad I didn't. I sort of wish MoM got some cool LE treatment, I would have totally bought that one. I do feel your pain. You know the saying - you cheat me once - shame on you, you cheat me twice - shame on me. I should have known that Kyme will not improve and it would be another horrible novel(la). But fething hope.... Hope is definitely a road to disappointment. The plot, like that of Vulkan Lives, Scorched Earth, Deathfire, actually sounds like it has the potential to be interesting, but I just can't engage with Nick's prose. Kyme's prose is at best Thorpe-level...whis isn' t saying much Thorpe miles top - they can't be even compared, lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/328051-sons-of-the-forge/page/2/#findComment-4586687 Share on other sites
DarkChaplain
So the only opinions on this thread and book that you take for gospel are those that confirm your own biases, while ignoring the other voices or even call them mad for having the "wrong" opinions? And nothing against Izlude, of course, but I can't say that his opinion on the book (so far) gives enough information to judge whether Kyme has improved or the book is terrible, which you seem to be declaring again. He is expressing buyer's remorse over an overpriced ebook release that he doesn't like the first few chapters of and hasn't seemed enthused by since you jumped in to declare it a "Horrible dirty dozen novella. Blank characters, pointless story, and absolutely the same salamanders stuff Kyme do." book and worse. But why consider somebody's well-reasoned post, like Tymell's, when you can go for the ones that confirm your pre-conceived opinion, even if the posts are made by people who haven't read the book, say they have no desire to even start it, or haven't finished it, as long as you can parade them around as having the "right" opinion (meaning they agree with you)? At this point Kyme, Thorpe and others could write a goddamn masterpiece and some people would be too stubborn to admit that it is actually good, I guess. Ranwulf
Everything he writes for the Ultramarines I enjoy, he has a good grasp of chapter intrigue and conflict. These are not good themes for a humanist chapter like the Salamanders.
