Crunch1945
Making an Iron Warriors army and wondering if anybody knows how to do either a mud or sand basing for a model on a base. Tyberos the Red Wake
Sand is easy, just brush on some white PVA craft glue and dip in sand. Or better yet, if you're willing to spend a few bucks, buy a pot of Armageddon Dust or Vallejo Sandy Paste. For mud, I definitely recommend GW's Stirland Mud and Stirland Battlemire product, or Vallejo Dark Earth. Much easier, faster, and simpler than manually creating a mud paste. Canadian_F_H
I just superglue actual sand I found on a beach a decade ago to my bases. then i prime and paint it with the model. Adding in assorted larger grains as I feel like to add variety, especially on larger bases... First mini i painted since 2005, for this years ETL... simplified base scheme since on other models IFE this year... other view of IFE submission oh look! iron warriors on my Bases! Side note.. since the IFE IV, the new plastic mk3 marines and the traitor legions book, I've decided to make an Iron Warriors warband, so... I will continue this basing method with them too... Can't wait to start finishing some of these guys, and just picked up another 2 squads of Mk.3 so this'll be great.
