True. But there is priority of Terra first. Russ must have had some leverage to keep the Lion from leaving him behind as he liberated worlds along the way.

I will be severely disappointed if this story line is nixed. It's one of my favorite. Ronald setting aside differences, forcing Horus' hand only to be late. Wolf King does give some credence that eventually they will meet up again. So many awesome stories to be told.

So a Wolf, a Lion and a Raven walk into a bar... By bar I mean warzone smile.png

I would love to see Russ and the Lion meet up that would make for a great story in my opinion.

Even though I've been a known baiter of the Space Wolves (when are we getting a SW chaos warband? ;)), I still like them a lot. And while I love how the DAs and SWs act around one another, I still hold a shred of hope that someone will do them a bit of justice and make the SW look equally good to the other legions and that there will be some friendly rivalry between the two aforementioned legions - like Polux and Dantioch.

Kinda hoping Gunnar and Redloss become buddies and crack heads together...(feel free to hire me BL!!!! :P)

They should since it's already said in the Index Astartes that they were racing back to Terra only to be slowed down because Russ was liberating worlds along the way.

Well, I hear that Wraight writes a cool Lion... but really, if b1soul and I had our way, the poor man would be chained to a typewriter for the rest of his life, and there already at least two books I want him to write.

Yeah, he's writes a good lion and Khan, but seems to dislike Russ (and the Wolves in general).

Gunnar is dead....dry.png and his death wasn't even awesome. Just one of my several grudges against Wraight (though he is still a brilliant writer). The Wolves have like, 2 awesome characters at the moment, and both of them have been around since the beginning fluffwise (Russ and Bjorn).

Well, there is the recently released "Leman Russ: The Great Wolf" by Chris Wraight, which comes out in the regular hardcover mid January.

I will definitely be getting that.

If you think you will get good Russ and honorable Lion - you will get only the second. After Russ 'exemplar ' behavior and negotiation skills at "Leman Russ: The Great Wolf" I want to

strangle him with my bare hands.

I'll second your wish ;)

- Runefire, he died exactly how he lived. In service of HIS legion - nothing shameful here. Can't see why someone would have a grudge against him. His wolves are real, human and exactly how they should be, instead of cartoonish villains of Legacy of Russ or Wraith of Magnus.

Wraight dislikes the Wolves? News to me. He wrote some excellent short stories and novels about them. Yes, they get bloodied, but so does every other Chapter. Graham McNeill hardly hates Ultramarines because he decimated companies and set siege to Macragge, or Steve Parker the Crimson Fists for depicting their near-extinction.

Chris's job is writing a compelling story, not a PR brochure for the faction, and so far he's done pretty well with it. Without a passion for the Wolves, he wouldn't be writing them as much as he does.

While I don't think Wraight has any dislike of the Wolves (quite the opposite really), it's the storyline that I personally feel really craps on the Wolves.

But that's a whole other discussion

Whoops lol didn't know he was dead :O

While I like Bjorn...I want some other legionaries to share the limelight.

Why can't we see more of the burn and pillage side of the Space wolves in their evil looking dark grey rather than the baby blue light hearted Viking family men? Lol

I want to see a bunch of despoilers popping out of drop pods and running berserk across the traitor lines. Yes Prospero was sort of like that, but I haven't felt anything of it's ilk since ADB's Betrayer controversial prologue. I think more people would actually like the wolves (coming from a guy who cringes at them, but wants to like them) if they showed a darker, unhinged side like the Blood Angels.

Just my $.02

It's war. There are dumb deaths, insignificant deaths and lame deaths all the time. Not everyone dies a hero. In fact, most people die horrible deaths that matter not.

Nothing miserable in his death. As wolf lovers want to show how poor they are - he died killing more AL then lost himself. He did his duty to the Legion. Wraight Wolves ARE 'REAL' - then Abnett, GW, FW and Lee's are not!

In which book are the Night Lords looking good. They get smashed. tongue.png

TBH, haven't a clue myself. But my friendly local NL player love to quote savage weapons.

But I will say the NL's have had it bad. Especially in AoC.

Savage weapons and more love in w40k with Night Lords Bowden trilogy.

Savage Weapons has Sev kill a guy, while the Lion and Haunter beat the crap out of each other. Nobody wins, that's my tagline for the setting.

Nobody wins.

Depends on the view. Shang definitely thought they won :)

I find it laughable that anyone would think Chris Wraight "hates" the Space Wolves.

That shows a real misunderstanding about how much love and effort it takes to write a novel, let alone multiple 40k and HH novels and novellas, not to mention short stories and audios. He's one of the biggest fans of the Legion/Chapter that I've ever met.

You can't write hundreds of thousands of words, making them feel interesting and authentic, if you don't like your subject matter. Do I hate the Scythes of the Emperor? Because, spoiler alert, I am going to kill a LOT of them in 2017.

If anyone loves the old portrayals of the Space Wolves more than the recent ones, that's fine too. We've got you covered.

Laurie - that's Wolves fans for you. If you do not write wet leopard growl, vikings axes and beards, wolf lords in tactical dreadnought armor riding on a back of a wolf every page - they would wine about unfairness of the universe.

Same as they whine about Gunnar death - who, let us remind them - killed 2 ships of the line of the same tonnage with his last stand, killed several escorts to that, killed more AL then SW left with him on a ship and who totally stand behind his orders and word from/to Russ.

Suree..... Chris Wraight hate Wolves...

You know how to do 'Wolf King' even better rewrite the last battle and let 'Alpha' kill Fenrysivaar, Hrafnkel and all other ships of the line for the Wolves. Cause they had got away too easy biggrin.png

Warning - sarcasm, in my humble opinion biggrin.png

As far as I can tell, any time I post it's just my opinion.

And I agree I've been a bit harsh on Wraight, and that's unfair. So I apologize.

HeritorA: Everything of what you just said about Wolves fans is completely wrong. You know what you're saying is completely made-up hyperbole. Unless of course you could cite specific posts were I've ever said such things as you've described.
