The Return of Celestine

I dunno why but for some reason i can see Celestine's new rules being a copy and paste job except you can add 2 retinue for 40 points per model (15 for the seraphim +10 for the superior upgrade + 15 for the power sword) and those models having the same stat line as normal seraphim.

Honestly would be happy with that. She's still pretty decent. That being said, a little power boost wouldn't be a bad thing...

judging from the paint job on the model she looks like she could be warp charged in around the eyes and all the power swords. They could be force swords. it would be nice if The Ardent Blade got a power buff, Force or some other form of instant death, as well as buffing up the ranged profile to GK Incinerator level.

Ladies and Gentlemen it's happening!

Glad I skipped on C:IA, looks like the addition of Sister's into that was meant as a push to move the last remaining metal stock before the new plastics are rolled out. I wonder whether the Hereticus Inquisitor included in the previews will be part of the of the codex or is simply just a nice side project done by the studio.

I didn't expect to hear about the Celestine Campaign so soon (that's its name now btw), but I am very gladly right! I'll be interested in hearing more about the two extras that fly beside her even if they just turn out to be glorified Seraphim.

Lets not get carried away guys.

At the moment we've got a Finecast Cannoness and a plastic Celestine kit that may or may not come with 2 other models in it.

We've not seen any glimpse of any other plastic sister kits.

That's not to say they wont be coming in the future, but its best not to get our hopes up and assume we are getting a full plastic army just yet.

This is a campaign release - there won't be a wholesale update on Sisters as that doesn't happen. It'll probably just be the models we see for now but that is still awesome.

I think it happened with Deathwatch and Genestealer Cult.

I could be wrong but I think they got a small campaign release followed the month after with a full codex / plastic release.

I don't know, look at what happened to the Thousand Sons in their campaign release model-wise - Magnus, Ahriman, Sorcerers, Rubricae, Sekhmet, and Tzaangor; rules-wise all those units and new Psychic Powers. At the same time, Daemons and Space Wolves got decent rules overhauls (moreso the Daemons) that changed how the army performed fairly significantly.

Even if it just Celestine (and the Inquisitor, Codex: Witch Hunters forever) I'll be very happy though!

I think it's probably just going to be Celestine and the 2 Gemini (as they are apparently going to be called according to some person?) but still, awesome!

Rather that a standalone C:AS, would you folk accept further Detachments/Formations/Datasheets in the new campaign book which supplement C:IA?

I will take whatever GW throws our way smile.png

Those Seraphim/Gemini/whatever look absolutely amazing, and Celestine looks awesome too; I'm really glad they maintained a lot of the details of her old model.

I know I said I'd believe it when I saw it (and I still only see 3 new models, not holding my breath for any more, but we'll see), but:

WE ARE THE KEEPERS OF THE FAITH! WE WILL SEE THE GLORY OF THE EMPEROR MADE MANIFEST IN PLASTIC!

And surely the Emperor has provided for His faithful tongue.png

Loving the new piece of art that showed up a couple pages back, which is a pleasant surprise in a new GW book. Also, I'm guessing that the name Gemini ties into the two not-Seraphims' fluff, but to match them thematically with Seraphim, I think it would be neat if they were called Thrones or Powers (Seraphim are rather high in the angelic hierarchy, and Thrones and Powers are higher).

A spiritu dominatus

Domine, libra nos,

From the lightning and the tempest,

Our Emperor, deliver us.

From plague, deceit, temptation and war,

Our Emperor, deliver us.

From the scourge of the Kraken,

Our Emperor, deliver us.

From the blasphemy of the Fallen,

Our Emperor, deliver us,

From the begetting of daemons,

Our Emperor, deliver us,

From the curse of the mutant,

Our Emperor, deliver us,

A morte perpetua,

Domine, libra nos.

That thou wouldst bring them only death,

That though shouldst spare none,

That though shouldst pardon none,

We beseech thee, destroy them.

Adore the Immortal Emperor

For He is our Protector.

Admire the Immortal Emperor

For His Sacrifice to Mankind.

Exalt the Immortal Emperor

For His Strict Guidance.

Revere the Immortal Emperor

For His Undying Guard.

Venerate the Immortal Emperor

For His Holy Wisdom.

Honour the Immortal Emperor

For His Eteranal Strength.

Glorify the Immortal Emperor

For His All-seeing Vision.

Praise the Immortal Emperor

For his Enduring Rule.

Hail the Immortal Emperor

For He is the Lord and Master.

Worship the Immortal Emperor

For without Him we are Nothing.

my post in the News, Rumors and Announcements thread.

Oh my word, I just saw the leaked images, and I am so excited. First off, I like this celestine more than the first sculpt, the cape with the fat baby cherubiums just wasn't that great, and her hand holding/squeezing a dove I hated as well. This new sculpt keeps many features like bare hands, flower on her sword, and yes doves, but it is a great pose, more dynamic, and she has a modified sisters back pack not a seraphim backpack. The seraphim, man amazing, love the dynamic and feminine look to there legs and armor, they kept some of the design elements of the former sculpts, but increased the shoulder pads and made them feel bulkier, like in power armor. The robes are well done, the flowing hair yet old hair style is great. I also hope they get the options to field lots of power weapons, even if only as a seraphim bodyguard unit, as it's a great option. Man oh man, I am so excited and glad i didn t invest in the Imperial agents codex. Now to save up for a nice investment on these beautiful new plastics.

It does appear however that these two seraphim are her personal bodyguard escorts.

Hello

I'm inclined to agree with this assessment.

I could equally believe that the book might just contain Celestine and the other new characters plus formations (perhaps the rumoured ones that came around a while ago, including the double Exorcist that I would be very happy to field - another of the old Forgeworld turrets sits ready for me to throw some paint on it).

As for the escorts, I just happen to have seven Seraphim, two of which are squad leaders. One of the superiors has a power sword and bolt pistol, and I can convert another using a normal lady and a spare sword from the metal canoness. Extra cost: £0.

By the way, the new Celestine - don't like her hands, especially the right one...

A BT+Celestine campaign? Count me in! Curious about those seraphim since they have sword rather than double pistols. Some sort of Seraphim "honourguard" perhaps, who knows?

That aside, this seems to confirm them keeping the "current" aesthetic, which is great. Hopefully more kits to come "soon" (although I'm broke until summer anyway!).

Celestine's guards are called Geminae apparently, so probably an elite form of Seraphim?

So looking at those Gemini it seems their chaplets are not the Ecclesiarchy symbol, but not the Inquisition either...

on top of that, they have no rosary beads ohmy.png

Those Chaplets match the designs on my Jes Goodwin original Sororitas.

As for the beads, I guess they are flawless Sororitas, never been required to perform even a single act of penitence, and thusly have never collected even a single bead.

There is the destinct possibility that the only sister release in the book is Celestine and her bodyguard as a single detachment.

It seems odd and a bit of a joke compared to the other Warzone releases that have occured in the last couple of years but then again this is the Sisters of Battle and this is exactlt how things go for the army.

I hope the new "bodyguard" sisters are Gemini (or whatever spelling variant), and not Seraphim - one of the really cool details I like is that Seraphim have 6 jets on their jump packs, matching the six wings biblical Seraphim are portrayed with. The bodyguard here have 10 jets.

It also seems that the torso plating is now fabric - the colour scheme of both Celestine and the bodyguards have it in a different colour (matching the fabric gloves), and they appear to be sculpted with some flex in the outer layer (especially visible on Celestine). It certainly lines up with the artwork, and I do love it, but I have never been sure that a rigid corset-style material would flex like that over the top of inflexible armour.

Interestingly, despite emphasising the corsets with the new paint job, the rear shot of the models included earlier in the threat appears to show that they've lost the combat heels. Celestine's armour has arches, but the two bodyguards have completely flat soles.
