Darkcommander
South America, the instant autopsies and interrogations speeds up the tech research a lot in the long run.
Nomus Sardauk
The autopsies and interros only take like, 1-3 days usually, so it's not really that much of a benefit. I'd go for either Europe or Asia, Europe halves the build & maintenance cost for Labs & Workshops which means you can get your R&D up and running sooner whereas Asia halves the cost of Foundry projects and Officer Training School upgrades. simison
It occurs to me that with the Halcyon Wardens' emphasis on shields and the Scions' medical expertise, both of these legions might have smaller than average dreadnought corps.
bluntblade
That was always a thing with the Scions, hence the large number of Kiryan automata they deployed with.
simison
This was vaguely started on Discord, but I thought it'd be a neat exercise to finish here. Every Primarch has a title. In relation to the Emperor, 'prince' is another title that could be added. Here is what we have so far (that I can remember)... Icarion - The Astral Prince Magnus - Dead Hectarion - Yucahu - Alexandros - Daer'dd - Raktra - Koschei - Kozja - The Alabaster Prince Niklaas - Russ - Dead Gwalchavad - Travier - Azus - K'awil - Morro - The Impure Prince The Jade General - Nomus - Pionus - Andezo -
Kelborn
Andezo, the Ebon Prince? The Haunting Prince? The Preying Prince? The Seeing Prince (:P)?
bluntblade
I'd go with Feral King for Andezo or Hectarion. "Prince" doesn't fit all Primarchs after all, particularly Nomus, Alex and Pionus.

bluntblade
I'd just use Strategos for Alex, as that's the kind of military-political title that the likes of Knights will jump on.
simison
Today is the official (belated) fourth anniversary of Brotherhood of the Lost! This fourth year has seen our greatest achievement: publication! We've seen other alternate heresies come and go. They have made their marks. From the novels of the Twisthammer universe to the books of the Dornian Heresy. None, and I mean none, have accomplished what we have. A proper rulebook. No longer do people wonder how to play our factions. Now, they have the ability to wage wars on behalf of the Warmaster and the Stormlord. Not only did we publish one rulebook, but three! That is an accomplishment that none can take from us, nor or ever. Nor is that the only big event to occur this year. We saw the induction of new Grandmasters. Xun/Gendo and Algrim have stepped up to handle the Warriors of Peace and the Dune Serpents respectively after the disappearance of their previous masters. The Mechanicum boast of two: Talonair of the Abyssii and Beren of the Cognis. The third and newest Grandmaster is Rowboat. It is his faction, the Stone Dragons, which represents the next step of our journey. We are now seeing the dawn of the successors. Although the eighteen Legions establish the universe's foundation, it is the successors that will pull us in one direction or another, adding a rich complexity to rival the canon universe. Our previous objectives seem a little weird thanks to the format changes, but they were accomplished. We did release three rulebooks, including the all-important Insurrection. Our next step is laid out and more than possible to attain. I want us to release four more rulebooks between now and the next anniversary. That will give us a full third of the Legiones Astartes the deserving rules, stories, and acclaim that awaits them. I hope to see many of you to continue this journey with BotL for this next year and beyond! Ad Astra! Chief Captain Redd
AD ASTRA! Also The Iron King is the literal title for Daer'dd; but in regards to The Emperor maybe The Iron Paragon, or the Unbreakable Prince? simison
ShadowSwordmaster, kneel. *pauses* ShadowSwordmaster of Bolter and Chainsword, as Project Leader and Master of the Brotherhood of the Lost, I now raise you from Master to Grandmaster. Henceforth, mastery of the XIVth passes from the hands of Algrim WhiteFang to yours, asking only that you respect what has come from before. From this day onward, the Dune Serpents will continue on under your creative vision. Now, arise, ShadowSwordmaster, Grandmaster of the XIVth. Ad astra! TheBlindPrimarch
AD ASTRA and... I'M BBBBBBAAAAAAAACCCCCCKKKKKKK! (On B&C anyway...) Oh, and Koschei is the Dreamer. Due to his ideological nature I believe. also, Simison, I'm trying to find that story that illustrates Selene's contributions to the First Solar War, but I can't find it. simison
Also found that early fluff about Alexandros being on Terra right before the DoR. Really early fluff: "At the time, Warmaster Alexandros had completed the compliance of the Fasho Birkuno System at the head of the Halcyon Wardens and was preparing to return to Terra for the celebration of the 246th anniversary of the Great Crusade, the ceremony taking place on the seventh month and the eight day starting on the ninth hour." Probably should recycle the Fasho Birkuno System somewhere, but, with the change in timelines, this would be the 233rd anniversary. Not really one worthy of celebration, but I'd explain that the Warmaster is using the day to his advantage as he tries to corral the Council of Terra on the latest issue. TheBlindPrimarch
So is it in celebration of the beginning of the Great Crusade, or the Triumph of Ullanor?
simison
The birth of the Great Crusade. Celebrating the Triumph of Qarith has a huge chance of looking like Alexandros is bragging about his promotion to Warmaster and is to be avoided. TheBlindPrimarch
What would the honorific for the Primarchs be in 40k insofar as the Ecclesiarchy is concerned? I.E. The Emperor is the God-Emperor, Selene is Saint Selene, etc.
bluntblade
Holy Primarch seems to be the general populace's phrase, and that seems exalted enough for the Ecclesiarchy.

bluntblade
Well, there are only ever going to be nine of them talked about, and Primarch carries all those connotations. Seems like quite enough to me.
simison
Weird, wonder if there's a better title we can come up with. Anyway, does anyone want a unit in Segmentum Atlanticus in the Oshia system? It's just a cameo at this point.
