Should Malcador get a model?

Hey all,

I just had a weird thought. Should Malcador the Sigillite get a Forgeworld model (eventually)?

My first reaction was yes, he's so important he should obviously get one, and he's the 2nd most powerful psyker he would be a beast.

But then I realized I don't know Malcador ever fighting personally (haven't read any HH books with him in it). He seems much better known for his administrative ability, laying the groundwork for the Imperium in 40k.

Obviously models for the Primarchs and the Emperor himself have greater priority, but I wondered what y'all thought.

It has been said that Malcador is as a psyker second only to the emperor, but as far as I can tell we have not heard what his psychic powers actually are. If those powers have some battlefield application (and you can weaponize just about anything) I think he should get rules and a model. I agree though, all the primarchs and big E should be prioritized,

The Emperor and the Primarchs are always described as literal giants among men- even among Astartes. Malcador is NOT. You can probably make a Malcador model by modifying one of a Preacher or Missionary, to account for the Administratum robes he habitually wears. It's far more difficult to do so for the Emperor or the Primarchs (with the possible exception of Alpharius/Omegon, who augmented the appearances of all Alpha Legionnaires to resemble their Primarchs, so enemies will have great difficulty performing decapitation strikes).

He should and he definitely will get a model eventually. When you're dealing with things so far ahead, their plans are rarely concrete, but they undoubtedly want to him at some point and I would be very, very surprised if he didn't get a model.

Ultimately, if he's given rules then yes, give him a model. Otherwise, like others have said, he's not specifically a fighter and more of a beurocrat, so I would have to say no.

There's plenty of characters and units with rules and no models already, spending time on a character with no rules feels a little backwards. Not to diminish his impact on the timeline, but the majority is done away from the front lines.

Maybe during the siege we'll see him in 'action', and should FW give him game rules then sure, give him a cool model. Otherwise there's plenty of models I'd rather see, in still waiting on a Malghorst 'The Twisted' in all his SoH regalia.

There was a suit of armour in hos room i recall..

Pretty sure that was an artefact like the rosetta stone or Van Gogh's sunflowers, not for him to wear.

Think of the FW navigator model. Hardly a frontline figure and you'd never see one enter combat with legionaries on the open battlefield by choice but the rules are there. It's like some of the profiles in the LOTR game, good for escort or rescue missions and such.

Malcador would work particularly well if FW ever turned its eye to some of the silent war stuff: small-scale combat, assassins, knights errant, etc. Probably outside their remit though.

I think it will also depend on if any sculptor has a good concept or idea on mind, IIRC FW gives their sculptors more freedom in what they are working, so I wouldn't rule it out, it could be even possible that the sculpt comes first and they give him rules afterwards.
