Next heresy book: Angelus

On the old Facebook today imperial truth popped up the running order for the weekender. Usual stuff, new model seminars, inferno seminar, and also a preview of the next black book being titled: Angelus.

I think we all know what that is likely to mean

Edit to be less confusing

Black library or forge world book?

"An early preview of Forge World's new Horus Heresy book".

Nice callback to the old Angels of Death codex but the name - Angelus - seems to break the disaster-themed noun naming scheme they had so far.

Interesting mention of the Ordo Sinister in the Talons of the Emperor seminar

Yeah, curious that. Makes you wonder if it refers to the same Ordo Sinister... Maybe the seminar will discuss the larger concept of the Talons of the Emperor than just a single 30k army list in Inferno. The FW studio has presumably been pouring over the old Adeptus Titanicus materials for the new game, could it fit in there?

EDIT: Never actually came across the background for the Collegia Titanica Divisio Mandati before, that's cool stuff. Fascinating way to pull together disparate elements of imperial forces, they're like titan-centric rogue traders.

NOOOOOO so much money, how can i do DA when ive barely started my wolves?!?!?

I'm not sure it's the next black book, as isn't it supposed to have the Scars as well?

Nope, it was confirmed at the last weekender that the next book would be DA & BA, no mention of Scars.

While I feel for Scars fans, I'm just pumped to finally see my DA on the horizon. Here's hoping for a 2017 release.

Maybe Scars are more angel-like than they are made out to be.....operating on their own in the fringes so that they can protect human life as much as possible compared to the brutally no-tolerance-for-dissent tactics of so many others?

That would be a cool reveal.

I'm also biased since that would be mean all 3x of my power armored forces would be in the same book. Woot!

I'm also guessing that if the BA portion covers Signus that we will get a proper Heresy era Daemons list. And the rumours were Dark Mechanicum against the DA so they might get a fleshed out list too. FW might feel adding Scars into that lot might be a bit much.

Even if it is just a preview, I would expect that they'll cover the armies involved. Only a few weeks 'till we find out! :)

Not the first, and certainly not the last, time I've been wrong.

Eh, that's silly. You can fit DA, BA, and the Scars in one book. Not saying that as one of those guys who tells FW how to do their job, I'm just stating that pagecount-wise, there is totally room.

Oh, I fully agree you can fit them in one book. Nothing about space and such.

I just meant under the title.

Oh god, just realised - this means Luther will have rules+model. I totally forgot about Luther being a thing pinch.gif

If only Black Library would forget about Luther too, maybe we could have some decent DA HH novels.

Dark angels will be huge, they are basically 2 legions behind lion, or Luther. With blood angels maybe we will get a more structure to using daemons in heresy games.

Lion vs. Luther is Scouring era, we shouldn't be getting anything like that in Angelus. If anything there will be a distinction between Terran, proto-legion DA and then the influence of Calibanite culture post the third Rangdan xenocide.

I don't want rules for Luther (he never did much of note during the Crusade and Heresy anyway), I want rules for Corswain that show him to be the badass that Sevatar's inline description promised. To say nothing of an update to our legion rules and wargear that reflect the realities of 30k gaming.
