I've been a huge fan of the Horus Heresy for the last 4 years, and i have therefore had a lot of time to start and finish a number of projects (mostly starting, because, lets face it.. you are never truly done with a project ) This will just be a quick introduction to my primary projects, so hope you guys like it, and share your tips, tricks and thoughts. Project #1, my primary project Emperors Shadow: It was dark in the room.. Dark as their legion.. Dark as the shadow cast by a giant.. Their past and future were dark too.. Amissio placed his twisted hand on the control-panel of the spacecraft. Quickly entering the new coordinates.. but to what use? No matter what he did they would still be trapped, as they had been for the last 10.000 years, after their fall from grace. A mechanized voice stated that his superior had entered the room. As Amissio looked at the twisted figure half walking half dragging itself across the floor, he thought of what it had once been. A son of the Emperor of Mankind. The worn cloak which covered the creatures back, depicted the symbol of a long lost legion.. The II symbol still visible on the cloak drew the memories of Amissio into the light.. He remembered the time where he used to be whole, not this twisted image of his former self. The time at the Emperors crusade, before they found their new master on the cursed world of Umbra IV. The idea is to create one (maybe both) of the lost legions.. I'm one of those hobbyists that start a project and then begins to feel trapped in it. Therefore i hope, by creating my own fluff and story, I might finish this project. Soooooo, I've managed to make some bases for my terminators. We are both very fond of fluffy games, and therefore decided to create a campaign about the return of the II Legion. The idea is to write the fluff as the campaig progresses, and to make the games decide how the story unfolds. I am at the moment waiting for my friend to finish his background story, and as soon as he is done with it, we are going to go fluff amok. Lucifer Lux remembered the battles of the II Legion, he had been there from the start. At that time they had been without their primarch.. ohh how bright a time it had been when he emperor stumbled upon their lost leader on the merciless world of Umbra IV. He had been amongst the marines deployed to retrieve their lost leader. It had been a bloodbath, no grand welcoming of the imperial warriors. He wouldn’t think more about the battle for their primarch, the details being too fuzzy, swapped by the eternal hunger of his lust for destruction. Once they had been the Lightbringers. That was a long time ago he thought. A time before he had been cast aside, a time before he had been struck down by the emperor’s servants, ohhh how he utterly hated those golden clad warriors. Now he was doomed to walk in this husk, unremembered, no longer honored. “Lux”.. His mind was dragged away from the memories, and the leviathan turned around. “Adept Galactica.. It is dangerous to sneak in on a hunter” “The hunter becomes the hunted heh”? The adept said in his twisted mumbling voice. I quite like it, especially on the bare headed guys, but I do think the minis lack a bit of visual focus to define them better. Have you considered painting the eye lenses a contrasting colour? As above mentioned you should think of adding a contrasting eye color and legionsymbols are on the left pauldron not on the right. Right is chapter, left legions so thst you see the symbol on the shoulderpad while advancing with a shooting bolter. What happened to the leviathan? His movement is kinda awkward and steals the attention from the pain job. Maybe if possible a reposing would be good because no dread can move that way and keep balance. If he is part of a diorama and is hit by a giant ironball or a hit with a rocket then forget what I said. Looking forward for more. Lost legions are always fun and the more rhe better So now I've spent the entire evening repainting pauldrons (1000 times thank you for telling me), and the eye lenses are now orange instead of the same dark green as some parts of the model. And I reposed the leviathan, pictures coming up soon. That's a really unique colour scheme.
