They'll probably wind up out of competition. All of my efforts to make psychic hoods have been really bad but I'll see if I can't do something for them.

BAC chaplain. But only the cape/shoulders, front is from the Vanguard vets. I think it takes me over the 25 percent but it's worth it for the effect. A little more progress for today as well

I, Tyriks, rise to the challenge of The Great Baalite Bake Off and vow to kit bash another stock DC chaplain, Gabriel Seth (out of competition) and a Captain with a Relic Blade (might try to green stuff it into a Valour's Edge if I feel bold tomorrow), Storm Shield and Jump Pack, on or before April 3rd, 2017. Success will bring honour to the Storm Blades, whilst failure is not an option...

As for the DCC, would it be too much trouble to add a holster? Or a wrist mounted inferno pistol? I think it would add to the model and make it look more like a DCC (or we can call it a Chaplain? Also, what are you calling his rosarius?

He has a holster on the back of his waist under the jump pack. That's why I took the extra pic, it's hard to see in a pic but not on the model. I can try again later. I'm calling the crux on his right bracer his rosarius, I'm going to paint a thread holding it on when the ETL comes.

Certainly yeah. Still need to pick a storm shield for his back, and I plan on sculpting the heart and blood drop chapter icon somewhere on him, maybe a knee pad. Also want to add wings to his thunder hammer. Was going to add a helmet plume but it interferes with the iron Halo. I have a few other ideas to mull through as well

A terran by birth, though a marine very much in the image of his genefather. Attained his rank post union with Baal. A stern line officer, fanatically adherent to the imperial truth, who stood apart from his brothers watching rather than commanding hearts; particularly after the verdict at Nicea.
 
Gained the full esteem of his brothers during the long rearguard action to Terra, eventually falling while repelling a Daemonic incursion aboard the company’s vessel, Isimud.
 
He was good fun to build, a bit of cutting and greenstuff used which is adventurous for me, I'm more of a painter than a modeller. He's more ornate than most of my austere legionaires, though still not compared to his 40k progeny. Parts used:

Chaplain Cassius, MK3 shoulder pads, MK3 right arm, glade guard knife, empire greatsword sword (hung at back), purity seal, inferno pistol from the blood angels tactical squad( I think? One with a blood drop on the gauntlet), blood angels head from the multipart deathwatch sprue (also painting an alternative chaplains helm)

 
Planning on using transfers on the pads. i'm pleased with how he's turned out - I think he's Chaplain-ish enough to serve in 40k but visibly something other too.

Tyriks do you have anything more Chaplain-y you could use for the head? The Crozius is good as a symbol of office (great minds and all that, I used that Sternguard bit for a Crozius too), but something skull helmet-ish would be a massive help imo, it's just such a distinctive part of what makes a Chaplain.

The classic way of making a psychic hood is to use a shoulder pad, used either as it comes or clipped to appear concave on the vertical bits. Perhaps you can use that as a start point?

Yeah, I'd have to either buy a box or find someone with extra bits.

 

I'd like to see about maybe a MKIV armor marine but usually those are hard to come by in my area unless I buy the whole box or multiple sprues.
