Some day, my Primarch will come!

After Praetorian of Dorn, one would think we would have seen Dorn and Alpharius from Forge World by now? Kinda would have been nice to have enjoyed the Alpharius model a bit before John French confusingly off'ed him.

Does anyone have any decent theories on why we are so backlogged on some of the Primarch models from Forge World? Dorn and Alpharius seem terribly overdue considering we are now 4 whole books past their introduction in Extermination.

I guess I'll just keep singing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45r2t1pGGyQ

Not sure exactly why they are behind besides some of the big sculptors leaving.

Maybe they are saving them for the sol system so they can do a big write up about it in a black book. Maybe you'll seenjoy omegron there to left leading the Legion.

The only ones that are missing models at this point are Dorn and Magnus, right? And we know Magnus will be out soon. So doesn't seem like the backlog is that bad.

Alpharius/Omegon is missing as well, in-spite of all the jokes from FW.

Because they saw my post about my daughter being 18 before they all came out and decided to make good.

She's only 5 at the moment. Currently they're ahead of schedule.

Don't younger organs fetch a better price?

This is purely for research purposes only....

Aye, what I always say is the Fists weren't supposed to even be done yet.

They were included to give the IW a good campaign and enemy to fight.

Dorn is basically just on Terra right now, so it doesn't make sense to give him a model yet.

That said when we reach the Preatorian part of the story in the black books, I bet they'll both be coming :)

.... That is, of they haven't already released an Alpharius model ;)

They may still turn up before the Khan though...

The blood is where the moneys at when they're small, need to be teen sized for organ harvesting.

I'd expect second versions of some characters; Daemon Angron, Daemon Fulgrim, amped up Horus, etc.

Considering they said they were aiming for roughly twenty-or-so books, we haven't even scratched the surface yet. Heck, we've barely made it past the opening stages of the Heresy; we've still got a lot of ground to cover; Hydra Chordates, Tallarn, Molech, Signus Prime, etc.

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they took us off in little side-black books to focus on some of the other stories, such as Fulgrim and Perturabo's sojourn into the Eye of Terror.

... meh. I've given up hope that Dorn will ever come. If FW release him, that's fine. But... eh.

At least you're not a DA player...I'm just happy we got shoulder pads tongue.png

Well you'll likely get The Lion sooner than Dorn at this point. Probably next year some time depending on when Angelus comes out

Wolves players just got our own book.....and just a contemptor (unreleased) and some basic torsos to show for it tongue.png

Prior to the release of Perturabo, we had two sculptors working on Primarchs, Edgar and Simon. Edgar left shortly before Perturabo was released to go back to his family in France, leaving Simon the only sculptor doing the Primarchs. That literally halved their output, it meant that Alpharius and Dorn missed their release window - they would have been out by now, if Edgar hadn't left. Now Simon is forging ahead on his own schedule, and you can understand FW wanting to release Magnus and Russ around Inferno, Sanguinius and the Lion around Angelus (etc), although it seems 50/50 Dorn or Sanguinius as the next Primarch from what people have said on threads.

There was talk also that Israel was going to move up to sculpting Primarchs (he did Eidolon, as an example) but apparently he's working on Age of Sigmar stuff now? No idea. Either way, FW don't have enough sculptors.

Simple answer: sculptor left at the wrong time, Alpharius missed his release window, now will likely take 2+ years.

Wolves have full rules, a model for their primarch and some releases in the works likely within the next year, while DA just have the update kits and unfinished rules, so I wouldn't say it's up for debate which legion is more lacking in attention from FW up to this point.

It's tongue in cheek, notice the little tongue.png

My point is there may not be much physical stuff now for certain factions, but there is definitely stuff in the pipeline for everyone smile.png

to be fair I find those emoticons convey nothing but contempt

every time I  see them it only makes me upset.

As someone who owns  Fists Wolves and Dark Angels all in playable capacities

I  do wish that they would hurry up with Dorn , and that the Lion wont take a million years either

I'd say we'll see Sanguinus next (after Magnus). After that, it's anyones guess.

rom the info coming out of various events over the last few years, Simon Egan is being given a fair amount of flexibility with what he works on. Obviously there is some influence from what book comes out and when but in the end, it seems, he works on what he wants out of the available options.

Personally, I prefer it that way. I'd rather wait for my Primarch to be done by a sculptor who is excited and passionate about their current project, rather than getting a model that was sculpted because that's what the sculptor was told to do.

When I spoke to Simon and Alan at the weekender Scars and the Khan have literally zero being done with them right now. They haven't even thought about them at the moment.

The reality is apparently I was the only person who asked them anything about them. We will be waiting a while. I can see the Khan being last and honestly that makes sense from a business sense as they're the least popular legion

This is tragic news indeed. So begins my lifelong hunt to round up every Edgar in France until I can find the one who can sculpt.

Seriously though, why wouldn't they push back the release schedule overall, but keep it on track? Why poor Dorn and Alpharius get the procrastinator's boot?
