Imperial Guard Shadow Wars Teams

Hello everyone! I was lucky enough to obtain a set this last weekend and I am in the process of making a few different teams for it. I have the Arbites models, tons of Steel Legion, Gaunt's Ghosts or the Tanith First and Only, and a good amount of Kasrkin. Whole lot of metal. So I will be making lists and posting pictures here as I finish them and hopefully create some fluff. When I eventually get to play I'll report them too.

So far I have only made the Arbites team. I tried to stay fluffy to the models and do as close as a WYSIWYG as I can. I had to get creative to include the cyber mastiff and I think I managed to do that well enough.

Vet sarge with carapace armor and shotgun.

3 veteran guardsmen with carapace armor and shotguns.

Guardsman with carapace armor, chain sword, and camo gear as my cyber mastiff.

Special weapons with a flamer, reload, carapace armor and a las pistol.

Special weapons with a grenade launcher, both grenade types, a reload, carapace armor, and a las pistol.

The whole team clocks in at 998 points. I'll post pics as I get them assembled and painted. I'll be working on my other lists as well and post them when I get them situated. Critiques and comments welcome.

Thanks for reading. Have a nice day!

A really awesome idea, maybe Arbites was discussed in the Shadow Wars News & Rumours, but I might have overlooked it.  This is great, I might do this with the Scouts that came with my boxed set, was just putting a list together after seeing yours.

The best idea is this one:

Guardsman with carapace armor, chain sword, and camo gear as my cyber mastiff.

I love this expecially, thanks a lot for the suggestion.

You're welcome! I thought scouts but Arbites aren't that tough I think.

I was a little sad about the mastiff because in the old rules he was tougher. Then I thought the newer models mastiffs may be weaker in toughness but can still get by. Good armor, high strength attacking, and adaptive camo gear for sneaking around.

That's a good idea too! I'll be happy to see what makes a better list. The only thing is I don't think Inquistion models usually get access to shotguns but we shall see. I really wanted to make an Arbites list work because I love the models. I'm working on a Tanith one now and that might turn out fun too.

I suspect flamers will be pretty good given they ignore cover. Just a case of running enough grunts in front that flamer is never the easiest to hit target before he gets in range?

I'm looking at running this:

Vet. Serg.: Chainsword, bolt pistol, carapace armour

Specialist: Plasma Gun, Red Dot Sight

Specialist: Plasma Gun, Red Dot Sight

Vet. Guardsman: Lasgun, Red Dot Sight

Vet. Guardsman: Lasgun

Vet. Guardsman: Lasgun

Guardsman: Lasgun

Guardsman: Lasgun

A) i have a nice vet squad from Victoria minis already painted up like this to use and

B) the Serg. Holds the back field with the red dots and counter attacks if needs be. They provide the main fire power. Everyone else runs about getting cover etc. Will probs replace those lasguns with shorties once i have the models! Lol.

Any thoughts?

I'm thinking of doing a Praetorian Guard team, it's always been a dream of mine to have Praetorians but they are so expensive! The low model count of SW:A suits them perfectly for me!

My thoughts are:

Veteran Sergeant - Carapace Armour, Camo Gear, Bolt Pistol (red dot sight) and a Chainsword.

Veteran Guardsman x2 - Carapace Armour, Camo Gear, Shotgun (red dot sight)

Veteran Guardsman - Carapace Armour, Camo Gear, Clip Harness, Lasgun (red dot sight and telescopic sight)

Special Weapons Operative - Carapace Armour, Camo Gear, Grenade Launcher (grab grenades)

Special Weapons Operative - Carapace Armour, Camo Gear, Plasma gun (red dot sight)

1000pts exactly. Does anyone have any tips? I'm trying to organise a 3 way match with Skitarri and Space Marines but it won't be until after our exams in the Summer.

Those look pretty good. I must apologize, I guess I wasn't clear in my original post, this was more for me to post my lists and pictures and battle reports.

Sorry, the title sort of suggests that this is a thread to post our own SW:A Kill teams.

Again, sorry for sort of hijacking your thread.
