The Secret War

Recommended Posts

I think that you're all overlooking that the rules are supposed to represent the Grey Knights throughout history, not just the Indomitus Crusade. None of the lore books are invalid, so if someone picks up Emperor's Gift and goes "holy cow, why are the Grey Knights being such jerks?" they won't understand the context of their existence. Or, if a new Grey Knight novel comes out, and the Grey Knight is having a hard time adjusting to suddenly being regularly in the vicinity of other Space Marines, the reader would lack context. Context that is a huge part of the Grey Knight identity. I feel that it should be there, even if it's in a past tense. It's a really important part of the Grey Knight lore.

The Grey Knights weren't the jerks in The Emperor's Gift, that was the Space Wolves who killed billions just to save millions.

And Logan, who cut the head off a Grey Knight Grand Master.

When said GKGM was on edge, Had his hands on his Weapon, and had a Hundred odd other GK there he was drawing Psychic Strength off.

And Logan decapitated him in one swing before the GKGM (or any other the other GK, the Psyhcics who had enough strength to erect Telekine domes of force that could deflect even the strongest attacks...) could react...

Still not excusing ADB for that! :P

Oh and Logan wasn't killed for such a traitorous act.  I don't care who you are, you don't murder a 'loyal' Chapter Master in cold blood, in front of a hundred witnesses (and an Inquisitor...) and get away with it.

Logan should be toast.

Well he is using a reforged ax of khorn. And all ax of khorn have a full blown bloodthirster bonded to it. And blood thirsters offten come with collars of khorn. AND collars of khorn make you immune to psykers/magic stuff. The GK master would have to channel the emperor himself and it maybe would slow LG by a fraction of a second.

You should read up on the speed of Nemesis Falchions mate.

Super fast falchion with hands on hilt wielded by an on edge Psyker siphoning power from 100 other psykers (who have the psychic power to deflect Daemon Princes blows with telekine domes..) is greater than a guy drawing a massive axe and swinging it.

There's no other way to explain the outcome than "it was wanted, it had to be".

Much like the old Supreme GKGM going into battle with Mortarion, a battle he took decades engineering, and sacrificed countless plantes and lives to put in place, refusing to put his god damn helmet on when teleporting into battle and taking a plague cloud to the face.  Nope.  No way.  NEVER.

(ABD didn't write that story!)

Back to Logan (although this is somewhat veering off topic, I suppose the point is that all the Wolves involved in that mess, who refused the Inquisitions orders, and we then at war with the GK, would have known about the GKs. And *none* of them were mind wiped after...), you don't get to be a Grand Master of the Grey Knights until you've faced the worst the Warp has to offer.

There's simply no way someone like that, who was tensed and ready for action, would have been unable to take a single action, would have been unable to move in time, while Logan swung his axe.

IIRC this GKGM was stated in the book to be the second best swordsman in the entire chapter.

Entire chapter.

And couldn't react in time to do anything in front of Logan...

A reforged ax of khorn. It is as if he was hiting him with a bloodthirster hand in one hand. Range incarnate, plus the fact that he did one shot him with the chaneling going on, only proves that ax of khorn reforged > enhanced human reaction time.

Nope.

Not when you have GK there that routinely stop those sort of things with Telekine Domes.  As evidenced in the book itself.

And there were 100 of them...

Also, you don't think a GKGM could take a Bloodthirster in CC?  That would be easy pickings for the dudes that take on Daemon Primarchs. ;)

Or if not take, then at least be good enough to actually have a fight with one.  There's no way a Bloodthirster would take the head off a GKGM without they guy being able to react in any way...

Maybe The GKGM had previously been mind wiped himself after meeting a space wolf?

The Imperium loves a bit of mind wipe.
