Easily speed freaks for the whole mad max style conversions you can do.

I've always thought that the clan encapsulated what was quintessentially orkish.

Speed freaks are a close second for me, but I have always loved Deathskullz.  I do not know why, but they are just perfect.  They are THE conversion army, because orkz can loot anything, but Deathskullz do it best.  I always had a thing for meks, and orky stompy robots of death.  Deathskullz have some of the best meks, and vehicles because of that.  One day, I might make that dread mob, one day.  They have lootaz and burnaz, one of my favorite model and lore for the orks.  Also surprisingly, ork look great in blue.

I had an army of predominantly Evil Sunz as a youth yoof, but in recent years have been very tempted to start a Snakebite one, using a lot of WHFB/AoS models (savage orcs, for one).

Decades back there was a weirdboy model with his two minders holding the weirdboy off the ground somewhat like a cannon...that I'd really like to model.

I do hope to make a Snakebite-heavy army sometime (I have the goblin riders from spider-riders in my bits box for use as Snakebite grots on vehicles) perhaps with some other old-style inspiration: Khornate Stormboys and the like.

And, for sometime newer, as soon as the Necron flyer was released years ago I knew I wanted to make a Bad Moon flyer from one: tip it upright, hack out the robot pilot and stick in an Ork, paint it yellow and make it a flying (vertical) crescent moon...

Blood axes, their ability to work with other races and not only being absolutely savage they are also very calculated.

That reminds me - are blood axes mercenaries who fight for the Imperium still canon?^^

I'm not sure, but it doesn't stop anyone from having theirs from being so :smile.:

Ultimately, aren't all Orks mercenaries anyway? I mean a Waaagh! comes along and I doubt it's only loyalty that makes Orks join it :laugh.:

Also, don't forget. The Liber has expanded to have subsections to work on DIY Clanz if members wish to do so! :smile.:

I can't say I really like one clan best but my play style is probably Goff. My army has a story built in to it. all the boys and warbosses, Nobs, choppy stuff are Goff but my Big Mek has a subfaction of Deffskulls. So the shooty stuff belongs to the Mek Boss, as do most all of the big vehicles. the trukks, battle wagons and smaller are all evil suns. Mostly the drivers.
I use a lot of red in my army but don't be fooled, it's a bit of a throwback to 2nd edition colors. Goffs would have read stuff. To the outsider looking in it's just a mass of Ork craziness.
I don't care to paint black so I use as little as I can. WAAAGH GorGak is well over 20000 points. (Old points) No idea what it weighs in at now.

Death Skulls for me hands down. The looting aspect was what made me excited about Orks and initially got me into actively collecting 40k in the first place.

My boys have looted SM pauldrons mixed in with the regular Ork armor bitz. Are 'Ardboyz and 'eavy armour still a thing? Either way I like how it looks.

I also promised myself never to run a stock trukk or battle wagon. My current only trukk is made from a Rhino (with a good bit of cutting) and I someday want to make a BW out of a Stormwolf with tracks.

Between this new Ork subforum and the new 8th Ed rules I think I've finally regained that Orky feeling.

Are 'Ardboyz and 'eavy armour still a thing?

Not any more. :( Maybe when their 'dex hits.

I'm on the edge of collecting an Ork army, but I cannot for the life of me decide on a Clan to focus on. I'm definitely gonna make it a Dread Mob though - Deathskulls seem to fit that. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, has any Black Library or other literature influenced their favourite Clans? Gonna chase some inspiration!
