Which Weapons To Take

Building my first Space Marine Army (Ultramarines)

 

I have 20 tactical marines, so was thinking of creating 3 squads of 5, with 5 spare marines to increase the size of the squads if required.

 

But how would you equip them .....

 

At the moment I am favouring giving each squad a Plasma Cannon but why are people saying a Plama Cannon is better than a missile launcher.

 

Plasma Cannon (safe mode) - 36" range, D3 hits, Strength 7, AP -3 and 1 damage

Missile Launcher (Anti Vehicle Mode) - 48" range, 1 hit, Strength 8, AP-2, D6 damage

 

 

 

Combi-Plasma also seems to be the obvious choice for the Sergeant.
