Finished my dude. Can't say I was too excited to start on the model, since I didn't like the sculpt to start with. Regardless, painting it was pretty fun. I even went all out since my competitor was supportive of what I was doing, so I couldn't let him down by doing it all half-assed. It may not look like I did my best, but trust me when I say I really painted the Chaplain to the best of my meagre abilities.

@ The Traitor: That's one scary looking Apostle! He looks perfect for the job. Good use of the Sorcerer model, I never liked the stock model, so recycling it like this is awesome!

@ MikhalLeNoir: Oh :censored:, that's one brutal looking marine. Impressive GS-jutsu.

Awesome chaplain, really like what you did with the helmet! The red stripe is a simple yet effective solution, and the checkers look much better than I thought they would. Overal it is an incredible model, the only nitpick I have is that the cloak looks too empty.

On my side of things I haven't been able to paint as much as I would have wanted, but now I only have to paint the black of the armour, the robes and the base before I declare him finished.

a few days behind where I wanted to be, but I have 6 of 10 poxwalkers mostly finished (converting/sculpting)... then I have to get painting.  Here's one, a Pox Tau, the rest are on the Templars of DOOooom thread.

UPDATED TO THIS POINT

Hey everyone! Sorry for being away from the board for such a long time (it's been ten days since my last post anywhere!). Life is a rollercoaster sometimes.

Anyway, I'm super happy to see the event is practically running itself and you all have done some awesome work! There's new challenged being issued and even new ones finished! IMPRESSIVE!!

Please check out the Event Annals, especially the most recent challenges. I'm a bit distracted by life, so your sharp eyes are much appreciated :)

So I made some progress on my vow, the Dark Apostle is almost finished:

The base, weathering and magnets are still missing, but can't do those untill I return home from vacations.

My modelling drives are scraping at my subconscious like a Butcher's Nail so I want to challenge myself again.

Who here is willing to do a fresh challenge with less than half the month to go?

I am rekindling a recurring old project of mine called Operation Reclamation, where I restore old models I have obtained models through rebuilding and repainting, bringing them to a higher than Table-Top Quality.

If someone is willing to do a vehicle challenge, this will be what I will restore (subsequently already broken into parts):

So, who's crazy enough to join me in this?

Cambrius

So turns out truescaling resin figures isn't too bad... though it is quite a laborious process and reminded me that I need a better hobby knife!

I still have got to paint the chap but am very happy how he turned out!

Keep up the great work, and am looking to seeing everyone's progress/finished products!

Thanks for the feedback Sagentus & Traitor!

Good point. I completely forgot about the back of the cloak. I might cook something up later on.

Nice work on the Apostle, he looks suitably ghostly!

@ Cambrius: I have a similar project with an ancient Predator going on. I would have accepted the challenge if my clean-up/restoration didn't take so long. Sorry brother.

Just a wipe to show I am working on my pledge. Had to rip these guys apart and build them back up as my previous half assed attempt to build them was shoddy at best.

I'm quite happy with how this group has turned out, gw didn't make it easy with the old bezerker sets lol. They are now ready to be sprayed the I'll use the mephiston based spray on them. Fingers crossed I can meet the deadline ;)

Kordhal that techmarine looks phenomenal! The reiver head fits in perfectly, looking forward to seeing your paint job on this guy!

As for my own entry, I'll have my picture of planned bits by Tuesday at the latest. Then hopefully finished building by Sunday/Monday and finished painting on Wednesday/Thursday. Got distracted by other projects so I'm late in progress :wacko.:.

The Traitor, I like the Dark Apostle a lot more now. The freehand on the robes is a nice touch.

Kordhal, looking good, nice use of the reiver head.

Quick shot of the Lord, still need to finish the basesing. I feel I should do something with the staff, so far I have tried gold and silver alternations similar to on the head, but I did not like it so the current version is just a wash to pick out the recessed details and then a drybrush to lighten it up again.

Very awesome work here. Stay on track.

I finished the assembling whoooooohooo!!! Now I have 10 days to ruin it with my painting and 1 day to rescue it with lots of photoshopfilters^^

I present you the Nightlord only known as "the Predator"

Finally chose the tentative parts I plan on using for my plague lord. Work begins tomorrow and will hopefully be completed by Sunday or Monday next week.

Finally got them finished. The moral of the story is don't take part in an event whilst moving house. So without further ado I present the 1st Combat Squad, 1st Intercessor Squad, 2nd Company

Geeeeeeez, they are so darn good. Makes me angry^^

I'm alive! And I bring updates on my pledge!

Final work done to the head, back muscles, and getting the lower arms close to finished - the left one is currently covered in wet green stuff and didn't make the picture.

Excellent work on the Crocthrister, BCK. I'd love to see the details on the reworked (or added-to) muscles. Are you going to be adding rivets and such to the armour?

I have to do an enormous amount of work on the Nurgle DP - sadly for it, my date lasted about three weeks.... :o
