I've got a box of Centurions to build and I'm still struggling to decide how to build them. My army is largely fluff centric for the Salamanders, or at least every unit I add I like to have a fluff explanation as to why they fit into my army kinda thing.

I can't decide which between Assault/Devestator Centurions are maybe more "Salamander", or which is actually more useful in the new edition.

And when it comes to Devestator Centurions, what weapon load out is best/coolest:

- All dakka with hurricanes and heavy bolters

- Anti-tank with Las and Missiles
- or do Grav Weapons show case more of a Salamanders theme?

What's the consensus?

Thanks in advance

As far as effectiveness goes, I'd go with either Las/Missile or Bolter+Bolter+bolter+bolter..., depending on what the rest of your army is weaker in.

As far as fluff goes, I'd probably go with Las/Missile: Solid, unyielding support, whose long-range firepower protects their battle-brothers as they close in with melta, flamer, and hammer.

...and if you don't mind Kyme-fluff, there's a unit of Centurions (4th Co., the 'Targons') in Rebirth. They were a group of 5 Assault Centurions, each with siege drills, heavy flamers (except Sergeant Bar'dak, who instead had meltas) and hurricane bolters.
