After looking through the latest IA Index I'm thinking of picking up my first FW model.  Right now it's a toss up between the models listed below. Care to weight in on the pros & cons of each for a RG army?

Relic Sicaran Battle Tank

Whirlwind Hyperios

Relic Whirlwind Scorpius

I'll stack up on the humble tarantulas. Cheap firepower, hold objectives, prevent deep striking.

The relic stuff won't find its way to my Raptors for fluff reasons, except maybe for one or two flyers...

Can you still buy camo-netting and deep strike those bad boys?

Nope. Just deploy them regularly (whole unit at the same deployment step, but separately) and they count as separate units from then on. Always fire at the nearest target in LoS (no range/direction restriction like in 7th), HB and LC prefer infantry/vehicles.

They are quite fragile when targeted by lascannons, but will weather a lot of small arms fire. Considering 27p for twin heavy bolters and 45p for twin assault cannon, they will always fit. HB will just keep deep strikers away and weed out chaff infantry while being too cheap to target, assault cannon will draw more fire, but has a considerable output. On the long run I'll probably take both. Multi melta is bad, twin lascannon is useful but quite expensive (10p platform, 50p weapon).

I was also looking into the Xiphon Pattern Interceptor. Thoughts of that pick?

A friend (tournament enthusiast) already called it the most powerful choice in the index, and ordered 3. Without personally knowing more, I'd say you can't really go wrong with it.

I've tried the Xiphon, Eagle, and Typhon thus far.

The Xiphon got a lot better and stayed the same cost so now it's quality.

The Eagle is also gold. As much as a land raider but it has serious troop capacity and firepower. Being a flyer means it needs to live exactly one turn.

The Typhon is pure terror with a Chapter Master nearby.

The Raptor I can only imagine as being pure quality. With Shrike/Issodon dropping nearby for an alpha strike I can imagine it doing some serious work.

The sicarans are pure quality as well. I'm eyeing the punisher variant for bogs/hordes/blobs. The regular is a good mix and the venator with las is a good threat.

The Tarantulas rules are funky and too limiting in my opinion.

The Deathstorms managed to stay horrid somehow. This one makes me really sad, I love the concept. Had it been 5 of each weapon/5 full shotting attacks it would have been phenominal. As it is now it doesn't scale well against large single units. It is only good against MSU, even then having to land 9"+ away and having such a short range means its not hitting much.

The Javelins, now with their new FAQ added -1 to hit beyond 8" just got even better.

Well, the tempest is quite expensive, and its "temporarily become a flyer" rule makes even less sense than before, considering every weapon is Heavy. If it becomes a flyer, it can't shoot at all, if it moves at all, it just hits on a 4+. Compare to a stormtalon and you'll just forget about the tempest.

The Scorpius. It's by the far the most over the top in terms of rules. I used two in a chaos list (where there's no relic restriction) in conjunction with a lord for rerolls to hit. My opponents universally hated them and would usually concede by turn 2
