Do Deathwatch vets keep their shoulder pads?

Seems to be same issue with right pad - old fluff said it was old marine pad with chapter heraldry moved to right to make space for DW pad, until new models came out and that "left" pad was magically mirrored now, meaning they get new, bespoke right pads. I wish GW actually decided which right pad is really right and which left and vice versa, because as of now it's confusing, contradictory mess

Bit like the rest of the 40K background then, eh? :P

 

I'm going to stick with the DW pad on the left shoulder, as Mk VI armour has a reinforced pad on the left so there is precedent for the Chapter badge and other markings being on the right-hand side.
