And WIP minderz for the weirdboy. Their poses make more sense when they are next to him :)

I am not intending to make them look exactly like the minderz in that old artwork, but I shall be taking colours and patterns here and there.

KrakenDoomCool, on Instagram, wondered what the not-wearing-a-wolf-head would look like, were he wearing one.

Well, I wanted to give them fur-trimmed boots, so made myself a little more GreenStuff...and I’ll admit it looks mor like he’s now wearing the top half of Alf The Aliens head :D but I’m happy with it. Not bad for my first go, all in one sitting.

I’ll do a bit more work on it soon. Smooth the lips, for starters. Add fangs, etc.

I’ll get a box of Fenrisian Wolves for future...use. ;)

And here the Minderz are with their charge.

One is about to pull away the weirdboys staff so he can’t earth himself, and the other is either pushing the snake away so he doesn’t get bitten...or is petting it.

I smoothed the skin around the wolf’s lips a bit. That should help.

While the GS is curing I got on today with the nobz mob and gave them RT/2nd edition-style red horns.

WIP on the weirdboy’s minder’s standard:

A lot of tiny brush strokes!

The two minders are all but done. I chose to make them from the Dragon Bref family, from the Snakebite colour page in Waaaargh Da Orks. I expect they have noxious halitosis. Even for an Ork. Even for a Snakebite.

And the plan for the standard:

The top line means “Weirdboy owned by Waaargh Grimsnaga”.

The bottom has his name “Grodsnaga” (friend-of-snakes/beasts) and “wild power explosive”.

Indeed, maybe that’s what it is! :D

Paint-wise that’s Mephiston, drybrushed with Wild Rider, then lots of tiny line done with Wild Rider and (as that didn’t show up much) Luggnath Orange. I was planning a brighter red - but I like how it turned out. I’ll do some parts of the flag a brighter red (Evil Sunz).

I didn’t have much hobby time this week but did watch Blade Runner 2049 and loved it, and got started on the banner the minder is holding.

Here is weirdboy Grodsnaga (serpent-friend) and his minderz:

The minderz are inspired by this image from Waaargh Da Orks

First of the minderz, pulling Grodsnaga forward, or about to snatch away his copper staff so he can’t ground himself.

The minderz are from the Dragon Bref family of the Snakebite clan (from Waaargh Da Orks).

With a looted Space Wolf bolt pistol.

And the other, holding the banner (to warn other Orks not to get too close) and reaching out to Grodsnagas pet snake.

The banner reads:

The choppy nobs. I’m now doing the back banners on the six that have them (the other three have backplates).

And a second, bigger, considerably less enthusiastic, weirdboy:

I put the Ork script for Snaga-gob (Sn-a-ga-go-b. snake mouth) on his chest armour (as he’ll be vomiting forth ghostly snakes), and a small souvenir of a clash with White Scars (perhaps the same battle in which the Painboy got one of their flags).
