The Unseen
Except, how much more terrifying is a superhuman wearing more armor than the average tank, when you know it could do ballet while killing you, but doesn't see the need? Volt
Been on a discussion on Reddit about it, and apparenlty they could because they have the physical strength to do it. Could they backflip the way this character is doing it? I'm asking mostly because I don't remember any mention of they doing it. Ran The comic is overall terrible and is rife with inaccuracies- I wouldn't pay much attention to it if the guy who wrote it/drew it couldn't be bothered to open up a Codex. gitface
Just to add from the RPG and memory - yes they can. Power Armour imposes a penalty to acrobatic actions. The black carapace (if I remember right) negates penalties from the Power Armour, so the marine moves and acts as though not wearing it. Then we take Armour like Corvus and you get a bonus to acrobatic actions. bluntblade
Honestly looking at the picture and Rendix's movements I don't think he's back flipping at all, it looks more to me like he's launched himself forward and corkscrewed through the air, taking heads as he spins. As to the "can Marines backflip?" debate, I feel that physically they'd be more than capable in normal, but probably not power armour as the backpack would most likely impede such a maneuver. Sounds like some of the moves Emily Blunt does in Edge of Tomorrow. Which is appropriate when you consider her character's nickname. bluntblade
Full Metal Thump indeed. Plus she's in power armour. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337198-can-marines-backflip/page/2/#findComment-4836015 Share on other sites
grailkeeper
I suppose this thread illustrates the difference between "can" and "do", Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337198-can-marines-backflip/page/2/#findComment-4836956 Share on other sites

WarMother
I'm just imagining how heavy the power armour would be... 2/10 - would not attempt... Arkangilos
Weight doesn't mean anything when it can give the same proportional force to move. It doesn't fall any faster (although it does hit the ground with more force). So long as power armor has the strength to jump (and it does) it can do it.
