Shuul
Yes, this is the main reason why this CT is kind of not total garbage :) Hopper21 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337897-ih-chapter-tactics/#findComment-4851346 Share on other sites

Teun135
It also stacks with similar abilities. Your Venerable Dreadnought gets 2 dice to deny each wound! Same for your Iron Resolve warlords. Be sure to roll by the wound, not by the attack! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337897-ih-chapter-tactics/#findComment-4851363 Share on other sites

ROBOcaster
It also stacks with similar abilities. Your Venerable Dreadnought gets 2 dice to deny each wound! Same for your Iron Resolve warlords. Be sure to roll by the wound, not by the attack! A venerable Chaplain Dread as your HQ can stack all these rolls togehter he becomes 10 wounds so can't hide any more has the opportunity to re-roll a failed wound 3x. edit: spelling Edited August 10, 2017 by ROBOcaster Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337897-ih-chapter-tactics/#findComment-4852146 Share on other sites
Morovir
Couldn't it use the similar Warlord Trait from the main rulebook that just grants it the extra deny option? Morovir
The third trait in the main rulebook - Tenacious Survivor. It basically does the same as the SM trait Iron Resolve, but you don't get the extra wound, which is good for Chaplain Dreadnoughts, as they get 3 rolls to ignore wounds, but don't go over the threshold so that anything can target them. lhavoc
Does not also spamming Apothecaries give us a boost as well? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337897-ih-chapter-tactics/#findComment-4853921 Share on other sites
Iron Father Ferrum
Eh. . . kind of? I mean, sure, it helps replenish our numbers a little, but a 6+ save isn't reliable enough that tacking an extra model onto this squad or that one is going to give us some massive advantage. lhavoc
But it's an aura effect so on Apothecary can boost the survivability of several squads. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337897-ih-chapter-tactics/#findComment-4870444 Share on other sites
Timur
When I was playing with index rules, and then w/ chapter tactics from GW's website, I played a unit of vet bikers/biker cap/biker libby w/ an apothecary. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335428-1st-crack-at-2k-pts-of-sms-8th-edition/ I have since moved to dreads+gunline since the codex, but the idea should still hold. The apoc., I believe, is worth it for termies/vet bikers/centurians/etc. It worked very well when I was operating the libby, captain, and vets close together, made for a nice zombie deathstar.
