Vanguard Veteran Loadouts/Where to get power axes!?

Hey gang! I'm still a pretty new player in general and I had a couple of questions.

1) How are you guys outfitting your VV?

2) I wanted to make a unit of power axe+SS guys but you only get one axe in a box! Where would I acquire more? I don't want to proxy if it can be avoided

I want two ten man units of VV in my list

One with double LC, maybe a hammer or two with a SS, and another 10 man all with SS and axe. Little bit more durable than the dbl LC guys.

How about you all?

It really depends on the role the VV are filling in your list. Obviously they are melee units, but are you utilizing them as harassers? Front line screen? First wave anvil setup? Surgical Strikers? Distraction Carnifex?

For my list, I run them with Power Sword and Storm Shield. They're meant to be versatile harassers in my list, showing up on the field in Turn 2 to charge at a weak flank in the enemy line. Storm Shield to give them a little more staying power, and the Power Sword as the cheap and average power weapon being decent against most targets. They're meant to deal decent damage, but more than that, herd my opponent into where I'm boxing them in.

... Doesn't hurt that my DIY Chapter Flavor gives them a Knightly bent.

For power axes, you may need to barter with fellow gamers.  Naturally there is ebay to get exactly what you want.  But the Assault Squad box has one as well.  Surely there are other sources but they will require purchasing the whole box for the bit.  Without proxy I'm thinking eBay and friends are the way to go.

For my squad I plan to have two: one with dual Lightning Claw because "Shrike's Wing", and the other I'm still stewing on but is leaning toward using a Chainsword for the extra attack.  The reason being VV still use PA, so I'm thinking to have more attacks over power to force more armor saves (hoping on the chance for more failure).  The other weapon may end up making unconventional combos though.  I dunno.  Sorry, upon consideration this paragraph may not be that helpful ...

EDIT - I also recommend looking at some of the threads on the first and second pages in this forum involving army lists (or doing a search for "Vanguard") to look at what other people are doing with their squads.  Patterns suggest those loadouts may be either optimal or "cool".

They're sold out of power axes right now but you can create an account and register your interest in bitz and you'll get notified when they're in stock.

Forgeworld have some HH ones that are nice https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Legion-Tartaros-Terminator-Power-Axe-Set
