Tymell
I thought Honoured and Unburdened + Sons of Forge were separate to the HH and not to be included in the numbered series . I think Laurie posted something to the effect here somewhere. It's possible, but would be an unusual decision given how everything else is being collected. Not to mention frustrating for completionists like me I think The Honoured & The Unburdened are unlikely to get a numbered bundle-up at this point. They got trade paperback releases after the hardbacks even. Sons of the Forge though? That'll be collected for sure. There'd be no point in not doing it when you have to do a Salamanders collection already. SotF would perfectly round up the collection whereas just Promethean Sun and Scorched Earth would leave too much room for something else. Sons of the Forge also ties into themes from Kyme's trilogy and the rest of the Heresy, so it makes no sense leaving it out like that. One answer from the horse's (or salamander's?) mouth on Sons of the Forge https://twitter.com/NickKyme/status/903902504773197824 I'm still certain Laurie posted on B&C somewhere about the rationale for similar future works but I am yet to track it down. Seems an odd choice if they do stick to that, not one I'm a fan of :/ They are longer than the novellas, but still, it's strange to leave 3 stories out of 200+ out of the numbered series, and frustrating if they leave them out of the mass market paperback format that everything else will be in (aside from The Primarchs, which is it's own thing, and Macragge's Honour, which is understandable as a graphic novel). To my knowledge they're only currently out in the large paperback format. Still, if they do later come out in the regular small format, then less of an issue. R_F_D
So The Honoured/The Unburdended I can understand as they were tie ins to Betrayal at Calth and also with the Calth story being dealt with in Mark of Calth. I haven't read Sons of the Forge so can't comment but from Nick's response it seems that practical/logistical reasons as opposed to narrative ones are behind keeping it out, which, like you, I find odd. It also leads to questions as to whether "every story in every format" applies if it is separate to the HH series. I mean, I have the LEs of both so I'm happy to an extent as a completionist but would obviously like it included in a numbered book on account of HH OCD. Ascanius
I wonder if things like that might be included in future omnibus collections. HeritorA
I wonder if things like that might be included in future omnibus collections. They will, but not now - 2019/2020. Me think.
