Northstar Pip update

 

 

lots of fun painting this, a lot easier than I anticipated.

 

Did some markings, then got to do the weathering.

 

My thinking behind the heavy weathering is,  this 4th breakaway fleet doesnt have full access to repair its equipment, thats why the suits look so different. made from found parts on an abondoned forgeworld, and scraped together tau parts.

 

These suits endure extensivly long combat operations, and even when those operations end, they may not have the time to repair and refinish the suits as most normal tau do.

you know my most favourite part is the missile pods  i have to ask ,where's the attachment arm on the pods from...  i can see the part but i can't click where its from

Cool!, i was halfway right   ...but what happened to the rest of the DuneCrawler... 

if i can do it i might remove those bits from one of my dunecrawlers...maybe the stationary Anti Aircraft one perhaps... ...

I'm definitely going to make a secondary commander with your Northstar Missile pods! thanks for the idea Man!!

it looks fantastic,sure it's a bit more weathered than normal,but hey! lets say this mech really needs his pilot to jump out and grab him a new battery 

The colours really work well here,i sooo look forwards to seeing a pic of all your "Titans" together on a table

update on northstar

 

base done, did the dirt weathering ( have to touch up the gun after the flow effects)

 

started doing the glow effects, its all at step 1 or 2, of about 5 steps

He looks awesome, i really like the subtle glow effects on the head etc ,i think the way it looks now already is perfect

The glow effect on the armor may or may not be done* I need to do 1-2 more colors on the source of the glow. depending on how it looks I might have to add a color to the glow effect, very slightly.

i'll be honest and say i do like your version of glow effects that you have now, most people go over the top and it simply looks like "oh they airbrushed green there,ahem,yeah its green  "

yours actually looks like a slight glow reflection.

 

anyways that's just my 2cents. continue your awesome work

thanks mithril, I am trying to keep it subtle. and im using brushes, cause my airbrush is only good for painting terrain.
