hushrong
Sorry if this seems trivial but I need a little bit of help and do not have rulebook handy. I am simply curious as to what counts as being slain. I have noise marines with the Music of the Apocalypse rule that trigger once they are slain. My NM being shot at range or cut down in melee by the enemy surely counts. And once all the enemy's attacks are done and wounds are applied a NM could shoot his sonic blaster before being removed thanks to the special rule for example. I was curious though in a situation where my opponent targeted a rhino, destroys it, and it explodes which results in a nearby noise marine taking a mortal wound. Does that noise marine count as being slain even though he was not the direct target? WingCommander
Rulebook, p.181: If a model's wounds are reduced to 0, it is either slain or destroyed and removed from play. Regarding MotA it doesn't matter how the model was slain. So, yes, you can make the shooting attack.
