Thanks for the comment and the feedback! I hope you will choose to lend your aid to the project. As you can see previously, this has been attempted and completed before, and brought a great deal of joy and excitement to its participants. To me, that sort of cohesive camaraderie is what the Liber needs now.

Of course, it's possible GW might suddenly expand one of these Chapters. I can't stop that. But you can see that the Imperial Castellans and the War Bearers projects, both completed over a decade ago, have not been invalidated. It's a small thing to get in the way of the fun we could be having.

For my first picks, I would suggest the Libators (I'm really interested in their Chapter symbol, and how we could differentiate them from the Blood Angels), the Exemplars or the Marauders.

I would love to hear from others regarding your ideas. Sell your picks to the Liber!

Sons of Antaeus are the only 21st founding chapter without much real background, so they're a fun choice. I also always had a soft spot for the Praetors of Orpheus too (someone did a Golden Demon veteran squad for them once upon a time), and being second founding it would give us a chance to play around with a Heresy-era company of Ultramarines too. I think that's a really cool dimension we could run with (not limited to Praetors of course). Fleshing out some background for a chapter involved in the Abyssal Crusade would also be great fun too, if we want to go down that route.

Personally I actually really like the idea of a second founding chapter, so that we can throw some Heresy origin stories in. Libators would actually tick that box, so would get a thumbs up from me.

I'm digging this idea and would love to participate.

As for me, I'd really like to work on a "flawed" chapter. That's why my vote would go to either the 13th or 21st Founding.

Would it be ok if we assign a chapter to a certain Founding, i.e. naming the Death Knights a 13th Founding chapter?

From a very quick and superficial look on the chapter list, these stroke my eye:

- Night Watch http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Night_Watch

- Tauran http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Tauran

- White Panthers http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/White_Panthers

Just to collect  it down, so far we've got requests for:

  • Successor of Raven Guard, Salamanders, Iron Hands, White Scars or Imperial Fists
  • 2nd Founding
  • Two votes each for the two chapters: Libators & Sons of Antaeus
  • 13th or 21st Founding

I'd say go for the Marauders, from Mol's list of his picks. They're a White Scar Successor of the 2nd Founding, so that should please both Qkhitai Black Cohort.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the Sons of Sköll were another community project done in 2014, where the Liber tackled the dual sin of a Cursed Founding Space Wolf successor.

Great idea!

My personal choice would be the Celebrants, because they're awesome. Minimal official detail except for the super cool colour scheme, a M36 Founding date and the fact they sent all 10 Companies to take part in the 3rd War for Armageddon. I'd been meaning to work up an IA for them for ages, but kept getting sidetracked and so all I've got so far is the following quote: "Aye, we are the Celebrants. For with a loaded boltgun in my fist and the enemies of Mankind before me, what greater cause for rejoicing could I have?"

Anyway, that's just my knee jerk reaction, but I also like the suggestions of the Libators and Marauders.

After checking Mol's suggestions, I like the Libators and Marauders as well.

Marauders for being White Scars successors, Libators for their color scheme, which I suprisingly like although being yellow. ^^

I like Lysimachus's suggestion of the Celebrants, they have a truely unique colour scheme (a gradient scheme transitioning from red at the top down to yellow at the bottom ) along with an peculiar name that speaks to me of an unusually upbeat and boisterous Chapter who really, really love their job!

I have a few concerns with a Primaris only chapter:

1. There is little to no information on how Primaris organize above the squad level.

2. Some people don't like Primaris marines and going only Primaris could push them away from the project.

3. I think a chapter that was going to be lost without a large injection of Primaris marines would be more interesting. The chapter might have been down to approximately 90-150 marines all ranks and been unlikely to rebuild.

Astral Knights?

I think they have a little too much established already. Might be a tad insulting as well to their honourable sacrifice.

Although not a destroyed chapter, one focused on the Death Strike could be fun, especially if it acknowledges any ties to the Rainbow Warriors.

I am so game. Been waiting for something like this! Might help me get out of writer's block for my own successor.

These are my suggestions:

Shadow Haunters (alleged Raven Guard successor)

Rainbow Warriors

Omega Marines (committed 9 companies to Armageddon and possible Omegon allusions?)

Hospitallers (no fluff but what if they're chapter master was an apothecary?)

Exsanguinators

Brotherhood of a Thousand

Can't wait to start on this! Sign me up!
