CoffeeGrunt
Wasn't that how they always worked? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340480-tallarn-doctrine/page/3/#findComment-4925109 Share on other sites
mertbl
It used to say more than 20" so you could move the minimum to still be flying and drop safely. They "fixed" that. Altasmurf
I hover to get the bonus to hits so, especially when I disembark so I'm ok with that. Dr_Ruminahui
Additionally, it is worth noting that the advantage of being within 6" isn't as great as it was in previous editions, meaning that you shouldn't feel you have to get your meltas that close for them to be useful. In other words, its nice to get them within 6", but they are still almost as good outside of that. holydiver 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340480-tallarn-doctrine/page/3/#findComment-4925809 Share on other sites
holydiver
Thanks for the replies. Alright, trying to make this work, so bear with me. Would it make sense at all to use Hellhounds to block LOS to the Veterans for a big push the turn after they enter play? I understand conventional wisdom says to use troops to screen tanks and not the other way around. CoffeeGrunt
Plus it won't necessarily block LoS from tall or elevated targets. holydiver 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340480-tallarn-doctrine/page/3/#findComment-4925935 Share on other sites
iceman2160
Al long as it takes some of the enemy with it......... Dr_Ruminahui
Only the hellhound version (so, the one with the turret flame cannon) blows up on a 4+ - the other two versions (devil dog and banewolf) blow up as normal. So, if you intend to keep your troops close behind, either a banewolf or a devil dog might work for you. duz_
Really? I thought it was keyword hellhound which they all are right? Edit: I stand corrected the odd way they tried to combine and separate the rule you are right its only the inferno cannon variant that adds +2 to its roll. Boring! Edited November 6, 2017 by duz_ holydiver 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340480-tallarn-doctrine/page/3/#findComment-4926101 Share on other sites
