Silver Skulls Primaris Captain

Finally got around to working on my Silver Skulls company. Decided to make it mostly Primaris. Here is my captain so far. Trying to figure out how to base these guys. Suggestion and comments are welcome.

Snow or desert. He's quite dark so something bright on the bottom would suit him nice.

Quick question, what's the dark line underneath the sword, just seems to stop dead part way up the gold?

I think it is where my wash settled weird. Probably a little too heavy. I struggled to get the gold right. Kept coming out too dark. I think painting Gehenna Gold over black was not suitable for a bright gold finished product.

Saw a painting tip on youtube that to get a decent gold/bronze/brass use brown as an under-coat, never black.  Tried it a few times and it does work!
