Magos_Adephus
Question in title. The Citadel cases are nice but are a bit pricy for me right now. Any alternatives out there? Lephisto
I would recommend Kr Multicases. They are really good and well worth it for the price. Steel Company
I've used Underwater Kinetic cases for my tanks, bought them through work for a nice discount. Those cases are pressure sealed, so that means no dust or water gets inside them, they also have pull and pluck foam so you could tailor them to fit your tank/troops. fisheyedbunny
KR are great, have 5 of them and never had any issues, even picked up extra foam for just storage on a shelf and the backpack for carrying around the cases. Definitely worth the money. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340867-transporting-minis-any-non-gw-cases/#findComment-4919781 Share on other sites
Res Ipsa Loquitur
I swear by Battlefoam, personally. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340867-transporting-minis-any-non-gw-cases/#findComment-4919782 Share on other sites
Major_Gilbear
KR Multicase here as well. Â I have some Battlefoam too, but I don't think they are as "kind" to well-finished miniatures personally. And KR also have options that are miles cheaper than anything BF offers. Â On the other hand, BF is great if you need really complicated shapes cut for difficult to transport models, because the more rigid foam lets you have cutouts for things like lances/spears or the exact shape of a banner or whatever. RandomMarine
KR custom cut is what I use Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340867-transporting-minis-any-non-gw-cases/#findComment-4919824 Share on other sites
Shockmaster
Another vote for KR from me, I have five of their cases, no regrets at all. Mr Yellow
I go with KR foam inserts but I find the cases are a little on the expensive side, especially when you can get a case elsewhere and transport large numbers of miniatures. At the moment, I have a couple of the old double sized cases from GW and I just stick the necessary foam inserts in them. However, I like to play BIG games, so I need a case capable of transporting whole collections in one go. I've found wheeled tool chests to be pretty good for this: You can get three stacks of foam and (I think) it was ten layers deep in the end. Todosi
Battlefoam, Games Plus, Sabol, KR Multicase, A-Case, Feldherr, The Battle Bag, Portable Warfare, are the ones that come to mind. Also this is a pretty good article on the subject:  https://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Model_Case_Reviews_and_Recommendations Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340867-transporting-minis-any-non-gw-cases/#findComment-4919924 Share on other sites
Claws and Effect
I use a Sterilite box with shipping foam cut out to fit my models. Â Cost just over $10 to transport a 2000 point army. battle captain corpus
KR cases are ok, I have their expandable rucksack and it would hold roughly 6 trays of the standard old citadel single case foam. TheOneTrueZon
I make magnetized bottom cases like these. All in this costs you about 30 bucks per case. Hertz
Any opinion of The Gamefolio System? They have a kickstarter for the 2.0 version. They have foamtrays, but I dont know how efficient they are in comparison to the other alternatives... thewarriorhunter
I've purchased a couple KR cases in a group buy so we got free shipping. I am very happy with them. I bought a couple trays and some pick n pluck trays and both are great. Bonus is the plucked pieces can be used for sponge weathering or terrain. I lucked out and was able to get a KR2 backpack as well and I really like it. Bonus is I like to ride a motorcycle. The cases fit in my bike's luggage or I can wear the backpack if I don't want to ride with panniers on.
