HH Rulebook - rules updates discussion

I don't really have an issue with onslaught. I've used it before and the lack of allies keeps it from getting really crazy. 4 leviathans is rought, but people can already ally in 5 knights or 10 castellax. Giving up a troops slot for HS is clutch, but until they town down vets you probably want a few squads of them anyway.

Multi use Grenade launchers you sayyyyy...

*rubs mandibles menacingly*

Here come my dark angel Ironwing vet squads with sniper on stasis grenades. Say hello to rending blast weapons that always wound on a 3+ and reduce initiative by one.

Muwahahaha

Usually I would pause when it comes something this close to cheese (I’m not saying it is), but Dark Angels got hit hard with their legion rules which makes this actually relatevley fair.

Still, I’d rather have this in a doubles game next to me than be facing it opposite the table :D

Is it the pic with the Thanatar? It's recycled from Book VI if it's the one I'm looking at. The thing in the background is a photo-manipulation of a modern bucket wheel excavator. Look it up!

Probably... but if not...

"My Bucket Wheel Excavator shoots it's two twin Volkite Culverine at your Marines." comes pretty smooth, ifyaknowwhatimean. ;)

Might be a bit off the topic here, but does anyone happen to know if there will be an enhanced edition of the tablet version of the rulebook? I prefer those to the ebook versions, but there doesn't seem to be one available at the moment.

Forgeworld dont tend to unfortunately :( Fingers crossed though!

Looks like you no longer auto-loose if you don't have any units on the table turn 1. They used the 7th edition language instead. Kinda a bummer because null deploy is now a thing again.

The only things that come in on turn 1 from reserves are drop pods and Horus (Emperor's Children RoW too? Can't remember). Out of those - drop pods would be insane to lose automatically and would kill a themed list and the other two wouldn't always want to do their naughty tricks.

I don't really see what the issue is. What am I missing?

Didn't everyone allow it already anyway?  You couldn't play an Orbital Assault list if you weren't allowed to null deploy, and that rite is hardly uncommon.

Anyone noticed that the new Sniper rule is the old Sniper rule without the FAQ?

As in, even Plasma will only wound on a 4+? That old :censored: ? :tongue.:

I don't know what the faq says but that's not what the Sniper says.  At first glance Sniper + plasma seems like a poor choice.

The FAQ basically made it so that if you were to run something like a Plasma Gun in a Sniper Vet unit (Guaranteed high S AP2, a good choice), then it overrides the RAW crap that says it only ever wounds on a 4+ (even though ti would normally wound on a 2+) and is only S4 against vehicles.

So as that hasn't been included (oversight) we're back to those weird interactions.

I don't read it that way. I guess it'll need another faq

Or you were making a joke and I misunderstood.
