Verux
Thought I might finally start a WIP thread for my Death Guard. After painting Space Wolves for some time I wanted a little color and dirt in my painting life. Hope you all enjoy. I will be updating with my Mortarion and all the new models in the works. http://i.imgur.com/UahwJz3m.jpg http://i.imgur.com/A9hGAGrm.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/uRdIsoEm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/INNkEcym.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/QlRJrArm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5kO7SGLm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Tm5fOgpm.jpg Edited August 17, 2020 by Verux Marius Perdo, Brother Callidan, DuskRaider and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341163-verux-indomitus-wip/ Share on other sites

dchmp
Its really good job keeping it nurgle while using a lighter main ivory or tan color. The purple, red and green also add a lot without cluttering the model's feel. Marius Perdo and Verux 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341163-verux-indomitus-wip/#findComment-4928737 Share on other sites
Verux
Thanks! I hoped they would seem a dirtier version of the heresy scheme. Years of dirt and grime atop the standard white of legion colors. Sagentus
Great work all round, liking the lighter colour scheme. Morty and typhus are especially eye catching, look forward to seeing more! Verux
Working on some Blightlord Terminators for the army. Although the kit is limited on customization the details are amazing. http://i.imgur.com/X3N9FFPl.jpg /http://i.imgur.com/WA0aDqtl.jpg  Used a bit of the spare parts to kitbash this guy using the Betrayal at Calth captain as the base.  http://i.imgur.com/8QaNpvdl.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/nOQdlutl.jpg Sagentus, infyrana, Marius Perdo and 5 others 8 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341163-verux-indomitus-wip/#findComment-4929960 Share on other sites
Sagentus
A lot of people have said the blightlord termies are pretty limited and dificult for conversions, but these look nice. Really liking the conversion of the betrayal at calth termy ... He looks great and will fit in perfectly! Verux
The holidays have slowed my progress but I haven't given up on Papa Nurgle!  My Blightlord Terminators are taking shape.     Also, my converted BaC Terminator turned out nicely!  A group shot is always required. Verux
I also have some simple kit bashed Dark Imperium / Easy Build Plague Marines in the works. This will add some variety to my troops without buying the multi-pose kits for the time being. A few bits have been robbed from the big box o bits. Working with idea of using different color cloaks than the original squad. Not sure if I will keep the green garb on this set and C&C is appreciated.     Marius Perdo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341163-verux-indomitus-wip/#findComment-4968331 Share on other sites
Warsmith Onyx
Nice work on those marines.I really like how you use purple as a contrasting colour. It makes your marines stand out from the usual plague marines, which is only a good thing.Looking forward to seeing more from you! This is the reason I am hesitant to commit to the green tabards and cloth. Purple really does pop with this color scheme. Thanks for the compliment. Verux
A small update for today. Base coats and washes on some of the kitbashed plague marines and some terrain.  I bought these on holiday sale from Death Ray Designs here in North Carolina. Met these guys at my local GW on Necromunda release day. Really nice guys and very happy with the set. Here is a shot of the overall set I have in the stages of priming, 1 finished platform and some of my Death Guard for scale. Natharius
How are you doing the main bone color scheme? Â Love your work! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341163-verux-indomitus-wip/#findComment-4971036 Share on other sites
Verux
The armor scheme is very simple. I use Vallejo Grey Primer through my airbrush, wash with Seraphim Sepia then highlight with Ushabti Bone. The Vallejo Grey is more of a white then anything and I would hazard to guess the Corax White Spray would lend very similar results. Brother Callidan
A very nice looking start to your army. Just read through your thread. What’s next on your painting table? Verux
Finishing my Death Guard is my priority. I still have a bloat drone, plague walkers, a Lord of contagion, some marines to finish. I also got a very generous gift from my wife I will be unveiling for the army. Verux
I have been busy on my terrain set and doing some base coats on the Death Guard. I am really enjoying the way it turned out.  I cannot resist putting more Mortarion pics in here!  Here is a group shot of the Death Guard so far.  And a sneak peak of whats to come.  Brother Callidan and Sagentus 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341163-verux-indomitus-wip/#findComment-4972775 Share on other sites
Verux
So I took a hiatus because my airbrush is a dirty heretic. Finally purged him and I'm back in the game. I'll have some updates tomorrow on a new blight drone, a crawler and 30 more pox walkers! Verux
Later than I expected to post again. My apologies as work has a habit of sucking away all my free time. Regardless, I have finished the crawlers and moved on to some new projects. Added a bit of variation in order to spice up the project. I also started some more complex, kitbash and conversion attempts. This is my first real attempt at making something unique. I am very proud of it so far. I went for a more industrial Nurgle theme that would match the bloat drone and blight hauler aesthetic. C&C welcome and I hope you enjoy half as much as I did. I present Vuriss, Daemon Prince of Nurgle, The Rot of Urtiss IV, Gift of the Forgotten Father, and Betrayer of Hope.
