So a quick post; I have a large marine force, made up of several different chapters. My favourite chapter is my own Parted Sons chapter, so thought I'd share a few pics I've taken over the years.

An update for the Parted Sons. 

 

I kitbashed a forge father for them. I had an old Terminator body in my bits box, so I put this together. I have no idea if it's a model that can be used "In Game", but I'm pretty happy with it. 

 

 

Initial kitbash. I was happy with it, but the Helmet didn't quite sit right with me. 

 

 

I replaced the head, and used Guitar Strings on the back. 

 

 

And here's the finished model. Apologies for the quality of the pic, but I grabbed it this morning before heading into work.

Do the servo-arm-equipped Terminators count as Techmarines in customized armor, Warsmiths (an Iron Warriors rank), or something else?

Mate, I have no idea. Flicking through the SM codex, I'll probably just run him as a techmarine. They have a 2+ save, and narratively I can explain the lack of an inv. save as that this is an adapted set of Terminator armour that's sacrificed protection for functionality. 

 

So last night, I took the opportunity to revisit an old model. The Parted Sons, as a force, have a good selection of characters, but no Chaplain in power armour. Well, back in April 2014, I took a rotary kit to a DV chaos chosen, and using bits from the black templars upgrade sprue and a few other bits, I converted up this dude:

 

 

Fast forward to last night, and I decided to update him. I replace the bolt pistol arm and shoulder pad, gave him a jump-pack, and touched up a few details, plus a new base.

 

 

I'm pretty happy with him!

As for the servo-arm-equipped Terminator, I've written rules for a Techmarine in customized Terminator armor (he's an officer in an Iron Hands successor Chapter). You might as well do the same.

So hey all, 

 

Another finished model for the Parted Sons. 

 

 

So, eventually, I want to do a small chaos marine army in Painted Sons colours, to represent the chapter going rogue. This was an old metal Chaos Lord model that was missing its  head, arms and back pack. As such, I've replaced the head with one from the DW kit, given him a sword from the Black Templers upgrade sprue, and kit bashed a shield from a Black Templar axe arm and shield from the DW kit. I imagine it's been plundered...the backpack is a from an old metal apothecary that was going spare. I imagine, due to unknown reasons, this model needs some kind of ongoing medical care. More than a normal suit of armour offers, but not enough to consign him to either death or dreadnought. 

 

The new guy looks good.

A good idea, but I'm not a big believer in home-brewing rules. Would rather just use rules already written then worry about balance and folk taking issue mid-game.
