Hi there,

started the hobby back from a 15 year hiatus. Since last June when the DI box released i'm hooked on the guard.

the last couple of months  I spent painting en collecting my army, checking all sort of DG related Instagram posts and ofcourse B&C forum.

Cause I still didn't even play my first 8th edition game I consider myself  more of a "Fluff" hobbyist then a player. ( Last game I played back in the days was like 4th or 5th edition)

But I sure wanna take my DG to the tabletop!

This is not my  armylist but is consists so far of:

 Having:

-------------

DI- Lord of contagion , but in doubt if I would swap him for a Deamon Prince

DI- Plaguecaster

DI- Blightbringer

DI- 7 squad Plaguemarines, bolters & plasma

multipart 7 squad Plaguemarines kit, bolters & blightlauncher

30 Poxwalkers

Plaguesurgeon

DI- Foetid drone

Wanting:

--------------

Typhus

Deamon prince

another squad of 5/7 PM, flails, axes, etc

"Blightlord termi's"/ not sure of them.

Chaos cultists

Heavy weapon/heavy support something.

Just some questions now:

For now I'm still in doubt  whats best, keeping   2 times a 7 man PM squad ( shooty) and another 5 PM and kitting them out as a CC squad. ( Flails/axes etc)

or doing 3 squads of 5 marines with 2 squads shooty and 1 squad CC?

Blightlord termi's worth taking for my army?

tips and tricks are welcome...

Blightlords are good but I've only ever used two units of five so don't know if one box is good or not. I use them with just a flail and no combiweapons so they're cheap enough to throw away as a distraction if I have to.

Melee plague marines are okay but I've never used them without rhinos. I'd expect they have to be big units (15-20) if you footslog them.

Plague marines really need two special weapons per squad and a plasma gun sergeant unless they're going into melee. 5 man units vs 7 man doesn't really matter apart from 7 bodies obviously being better if you're not going to add extra squads. The real advantage of 5 man squads is being able to put two in a rhino and carry those extra special weapons.
