Hello everyone!

I wanted to add some female models to my CSM warband so the first thing that I thought of was female cultists, however, I haven't been able to find many models that appealed to me. I did get the 'Renegade sister with daemon gun' from WE because I thought it looked cool but that is just one model! Also, I'm not a big fan of the Slaanesh motif so I don't want all of my girls to have that design.

I also thought of the Eschers from Necromunda and the Jailbirds from Raging Heroes (I kinda like the JL better) but they didn't seem to fit with my Iron Warriors and Death Guard warbands. For the IWs, I'm thinking a more renegade guard style works best and I love the range of models of Raging Heroes Iron Empire (from their Toughest Girls of the Galaxy). The problem still is that they wouldn't mix with a cultist unit and I don't think I want to spend that much money right now to get a third army (Renegade Guard) so my intention was to still run them as cultists if I wanted to have a battleforged army but in a separate unit from the rest.

However I feel this would not work so well with my Death Guard so I still want to look for other models that fit the cultist vibe better.

Still, I'd like to see your opinion. Eschers/Jailbirds as cultists? Iron Empire as Renegade Guard? Other models that could work?

Thank you beforehand!

I feel your pain. I have an old metal Catachan guardswoman with grenade launcher, and she is the only gal in my renegade army, other than my medic (a Morgue Attendant I purloined from the Horrorclix line).

Most of my traitors are kitbashed Catachans wearing gas hoods or filtration masks, so finding feminine heads isn't a problem; the difficulty for me is finding suitably ragged bodies that aren't weirdly sexy. Like you, not a big fan of Slaaneshi look. Not super enthused about the new Escher line, either, unless I was going to make Khorne renegades and wanted them to stand alongside converted Blood Reavers or something similar.

The Abbithan Banshees from Chapter House look ok, but they seem a bit small- then again, if you were planning on using Cadian bits for your Iron Warrior renegades, they might fit in alright. Small cultists make marines look more imposing.

I am considering getting some female apocalyptic survivors from the wargames factory sprue. Not all of them are suitable, but there are a fair few sleeveless bodies that I could blend in with my Catachans. Slap some Pig Iron heads on them and give them some autopistols and lasguns and I think they would do sterling work... those that make for poor militia get turned into zombies or bits fodder for mutants.

I have a Slaanesh themed army and use Raging Heroes (Fit perfectly for daemons) and got the Eschers Boxes as Cultists. They really stick out between normal cultists from GW, so I started to use just female heads for the normal militia and disciples. In my opinion the Cadian armor is quite unisex.

I think Jailbirds is right for your Iron Warriors and for the Death Guard I would consider the Poxwalkers from WE. They look really great.

Otherwise prepare your Greenstuff. It is hard work but totally pays off.

Female eisenkern panzerjagers legs with forgeworld renegade torsos could work, the legs have a more feminine form but are heavily armoured.  You'll have enough games workshop parts to play them at their stores.

I don't know about Eshers yet havent bought the kit but am sure conversion possibilities are endless.

Thanks for the replies!

Azekai, I love the regade militia conversion set from FW. I'm wondering if either that or just gasmaks would mix well with either the Eschers or RH's Jailbirds to create a look similar to GW's cultists. I am going to check if any of the other models you have listed are sold in my non-GW hobby store to check their size.

Nemerax, are you using the Eschers with some modifications? I can imagine their hairstyle would look out of place in a cultist group, that's plartly why I had thought of Raging Heroes' Jailbirds as another option.

I hadn't seen those models from WE! They look great! Definitely very Nurgle-ish. I was starting to consider the RH's Cyberzombies but these look much better for Nurgle.

Tamika, I didn't know about those models, they look gorgeous!  Plus, I know my non-GW store has Dreamforge models so I'll ask them about these.

Victoria miniatures makes a variety of female guard bits/miniatures (with reasonable proportions  by the way) that might be worth looking at. Also Puppet-war Make a Cultist line called "tormentors"  that could be modified with female head to look very "cultish". Also this company http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/wp/product/female-cultists/ makes a line of Female cultists that look alright.

So far I was only able to get a glance at them. I was on a business trip, but I have holidays and can send you a picture of them within the normal cultists, if you like. Just give me a couple of days.

In my Astra Militarum army I have some females using heads from Victoria Miniatures on regular cadian bodies. The female form is less obviously feminine when covered in flak armor, so I used the standard chests without any problem.

Ridiculously indecent, I'd say hahaha

The troopers have to be my favorite. Like the pose and heads. The PostApoc heads look nice as well.

My only concern is shipping costs, for the same price I can get a box of Raging Heroes and don't have to worry about shipping because my hobby store sells them.

that's certainly true, but I see it as the cost of having more diversity of models in the army, so it pays for itself (at least to me). Either way, those models are there in case you don't want the raging heroes ones.
