I've been a long time Blood Angel player, but increasingly as I read the newer Heresy fluff I've come to realize that Jaghatai Khan may just be my favorite Primarch. Since my BA army is done and entirely standard marines, and I want to mess with Primaris as their own force, I thought it could be interesting to make a new Primaris White Scars successor. Their theme and culture will be different, obviously, but the rules would be White Scars.

I'm just curious how experienced White Scar players think their various Chapter traits will work with an all Primaris army? Obviously I won't be using Born in the Saddle, but Lightning Assault I think works extremely well for Primaris.

Inceptors are awesome and will serve you well as Whitescars. You might actually be able to get Agressors into position. Also remember the Intercessors and Hellblasters have Assault versions of their weapons.

Theory crafting on my part that seems to pan out reading other players experiences is that you need to take at least 2x Repulsors, one just doesn’t cut it.

Thanks CCE. I don't know the math but if something is big and scary I tend to run double because just one gets shot up. What kinds of things do you think work best being transported in Repulsors? I was thinking maybe flame Aggressors but I'm behind on the Primaris train.

My theorizing is actually trying to stay away from your opponent.  Running them in pairs staying inside the Repulsors range and moving over secondary/remote objectives and dropping a 5 man Intercessor squad.  The rest of your army can lend fire support or moving up the middle to help divert attention from the Repulsors or hiding in plane sight because your opponent is seeing the Repulsors flying around.

IMO a primaris White Scars would seem to lend itself to Inceptors with heavy bolters pistols (what ever they are called), assault plasma incinerators Hellblasters, and rievers.  These seem to benefit from the chapter's unique rules.  I like the Intercessors with assault bolt rifles as an idea,  but i'm note sure if they would be better then the standard or heavy versions for them.  Its a shame there are no primaris on bikes or with real jump packs.

I'm doing a similar thing with my Primaris - have an oldmarines Salamanders army and a Deathwatch force, so wanted my Primaris to look distinct. Went with Storm Lords... who fluff-wise have been running long-distance recon around the edges of the Cicatrix to probe for fleeting paths across to the Dark Imperium and just recently linked up with my Sallies and Deathwatch.

I've only got as far as completing one half of Dark Imperium for them, but I also came across a recast Xiphon for a song so I painted it up... works wonders alongside my Corvus, and fluff-wise I just say that the remaining 'oldmarines' are increasingly assigned to vehicle crews as the Primaris form up as line infantry. The greatest edge that older marines have as the force matures is just their ability to fit in and pilot the more advanced weapon systems and vehicles of the Chapter in their missions across the Cicatrix.

My plan is to add a Repulsor, 3 Plasma Inceptors and then 10-15 Reivers in addition to the models out of the starter set, plus Scouts for a third Troops choice.

If you wanted to avoid intercessors and have the Primaris as reinforcements for your BA, my guess is that you can find people willing to sell their Bolter Inceptors pretty cheap as for most Chapter Tactics they are not as good... A small force of 3x3 Inceptors plus HQ would be cool as a 'White Scars speartip' formation based on new tech. It really is a shame that there are no Primaris jetbikes (yet).

Cheers,
