It's tough to justify them in most legions being what is essentially 12 Volkite or Bolter shots (plasma is too swingy) 2) Potentially devastating, but the 6" range means that against infantry you have quite a small kill bubble and against tanks (especially bigger ones) the S8 means you will need to be 3" away for that Melta rule, which some tanks might even have ceramite. Day of revelation means he can jump in on his own somewhere close and hop over next phase to nuke his target. At 200 a pop you can trade of with a dread, anything extra is a bonus IMO. In our 30,000 Point Apoc game he deep struck one behind a Warhound titan and blew it up after it had taken a few hits. Funniest thing I had ever seen in a game of 30k.
