It seems I didn't learn my lesson from the last ETL... I had forgotten how much work stripping a load of old models was  I shall keep on and hopefully be vowing soon!

Grab a cheap ultrasonic cleaner that has a heating function. Soak in Simple Green for a few days and chuck them in the cleaner with the heat up - 30 mins later you won't even need to scrub them. I wish I'd bought one years ago!

I'm using an ultrasonic cleaner but it's not a heated one I don't think? Maybe I need to pickle them in dettol for longer but getting a heated cleaner sounds appealing from what you say. Not having to scrub models clean then pick out the paint still in the crevices sounds amazing!

Of course it could also be the shoddy original paint job that makes them so difficult to clean :tongue.:

Well I guess it would seem appropriate for me to participate too... ;)

In the name of the Emperor and Lord Commander , I Commander duz_ of the Mordian Iron Guard, shall raise a +++REDACTED+++ by 31st March.

Here is the Lore for Lord commissar Raok, sorry this took so long for something so short but i had a lot and i mean a lot of back to back work and family issues that i had to deal with

Lore of the Character: Lord Commissar Roak

Name: Roak

Age: 87

Regiment: 1st Valion

Rank: Lord Commissar

Weapons: Bolt pistol, power sword

Heirloom: Will of the Imperium (The Emperors Benediction)

Tactics: discipline

Warlord Trait: Draconian Discipline

Bio
Early years

Roak orphan of an Imperial guard officer was brought to the Schola Progenium to undertake lesions that would aid the Imperium in years to come, his grades could be said to be the average with quillmanship that could be seen as passable, his skills with combat proved to be his best quality alongside a strong steadfast determination which put him onto the track to become a cadet Commissar.

Cadet Commissar

After graduating into the Commissariat as a cadet Roak found himself thrown onto battle fields and trenches alongside many Imperial guard regiments ranging from small squads to the vastness of platoons with the constant eye of his teacher Lord Commissar Varsh looking over him Roak tired and succeeded in every task and charge given to him and over time the rest of the Cadets of the Commissariat where either weeded out or died leaving Roak as the last of both his cadet squad and as the sole Cadet Commissar left under the guidance of Varsh and as the next few years continued Raok as promoted to junior commissar.

Junior commissar

After his promotion he was assigned to Commissar Corix to finish his training following this he was given a new assignment with the Cadian 583rd his first deployment was during the battles for Icarus VIII his actions as a junior commissar gained him some respect within the regiments he found himself attached too, while still not a full Commissar Roaks discipline on and off the battlefield gave him much notoriety with his Commissar, following a hard fought battle with a Ork Mech the Junior Commissar was taken off the front lines to receive medical aid.

Valion campaign

By the End of the Icarus VIII Campaign Roak was promoted to full Commissar and placed alongside the Cadian 583rd as an advisor to the young General Isacs while this did take him off the frontline for most of the conflict Roak still found himself busy dealing with the many administrational duties that came with aiding a General leading part of a full scale planetary invasion, in his most notable event from the war Roak personally arranged and preformed over 120 executions for cowardice, 29 executions for improper dress in front of a Lord Commissar and Personally took the head of the Last Tau Leader on the planet one “Sha’vo’ro”. Having formed a bond with the members of the Cadian 583rd he elected to stay behind and become one of Two Commissars that would make up the 1st Valion 1st Regiment 1st infantry company the other being a young Commissar from the 546th Mordian Iron guard named Cyris who felt a change of pace and a chance to lead Whiteshields into battle was not worth passing up.

The Loebos Campaign

Acting as a front line commissar for the events of the Loebos campaign Roak was assigned co-command of the Valion 1st veterans with this small command he managed to find an exploitable weakness in the Traitor guards of his first deployment though this the Valion 1st Vets where able to control the flow of the battle however he also noted that while he was able to rely on his men the Commissar Cyris was unable to deal with the harder units that made up the main force escorting the Baneblade. When the battle was over Roak gave his Plasma pistol over to Cyris believing that given his position on the battlefield and the overall training of the men with him it would be safer for him to carry a more powerful weapon this would prove to be fruitful in their next engagement where when beset by Dark angles controlled by an unknown psyker  while Roak and the 1st Veteran’s where able to hold their own Cyris felt the weight of keep both his men alive and in line while also trying to penetrate a suit of terminator armour. Once the command structure had talked with the Black Nighthawks plans where set in place to retake a major area that would go towards creating a staging arear to retake a major Hivecity. The events of the final battle at the edge of the Hivecity would be a moment of pause for Roak standing with Victorak as the Daemon before them even though he was ready to lay down his life the intervention of the Black Nighthawks did save him during the final bloody battle.

Lord Commissar

With the Campaign come to an end Roak found that his mentor Varsh has been slain on the eastern most front Roak to the news hard knowing that he was with the Emperor forever more he steeled himself however one thing he could take solace in was that his mentors bolt pistol had be recovered with it in hand Roak took up the position of Lord Commissar of the Valion 1st regiment and before him lies many more years of hard service.

As promised, my Praetorian XXIV vow:

3 Infantry squads

1 Special Weapons squad

I mentioned these a few days ago but I never made an official post.  Pictures are in my previous post.

I'm stuck, I have found myself just staring at the ,Russ. I'm trying to decide if I should keep the same color scheme ,or attempt to do a different camo scheme.

These are the current existing tanks.

Count Tarrant's Forces ,Command Tank,and Squad 003 (640x480)

I need to upload some better pics.

A Taurox as well.

I think the colour scheme is really nice, if you're thinking of something different what about modifying it instead? Perhaps upgrading it to a camouflage scheme, or adding some spice with heavy weathering?

"In the name of the Emperor and Lord Commander , I Commander level9red of the Falharan 1st, shall raise 2 company commanders, 2 infantry squads, 3 special weapon squads and a flyer by 31st March."

I'll also vow some background information on the regiment.
