Also, Totally want to express my interest in the expanding storyline as per the Mail chain btw.

It's good that such an avenue is open to us though, since there's always the problem of the Marines driving an action narrative.  A lot of the time, the Deathwatch are boots on the ground when the investigation, the heresy and tomfoolery ends and the real trouble starts.

Hi all,

 

I don't have a lot of time to post over the weekend but I am targeting an update as soon as I am able to do so on Monday. If you'd like to get any posts or placeholders up before then, please do.

 

In short - you will not encounter immediate hostiles when you exit the torpedo, and it will afford me the opportunity to describe a bit of the ship (beyond what's in Mazer's post) and to allow you to catch your breath and find your bearings.

 

Taking on board what Xin and Tyber said - the best thing you can do is to acknowledge/remark upon the things I'm including! A giant battleship has just entered the system and you've no idea why. You could also attempt to contact the Imperial fleet or the Xenocide more particularly to ascertain what's going on.

Regarding Solastion's idea: Using information from the briefing and initial targeting of our boarding torpedo (Security Skill - Breaching tactics) and information from the Augury as well as anything we can get hold on during the breach - could Sabaan triangulate a rough direction to our objective? Or what would we need to orientate ourselves?

Thank you also, Apologist, for your very good (and very useful) post - I really like the imagery of the Astartes as shrapnel from the bullet, diving deeper into the target.

 

I will be attempting an update today, if not tomorrow.

I've sent you all an email, but for those who haven't checked, I will be awarding all players 2000XP to spend as they wish, along with the Forging the Bond talent for 500XP. This should take all players up to 7500XP. 

 

Please prepare your XP expenditures in this post but don't update your character sheets yet until I've had a look.

I put up another placeholder for now and I'll try to get both of them filled on Friday if I don't have any time tomorrow.
