When the ambush came, it was almost a relief. Glass and shards of masonry exploded. There was a moment of stillness. The Auspex return flickered, just a nanosecond before the first of the xenoforms actually appeared. One of the multilimped aberrations broke from hiding close to Greysight. Sabaan turned, servos whirring on his left as he brought the bolter up, tracking the target. A targeting rune locked on it's despicable frame. A mind-impulse released the safety. ...Tracking...

"Kill them! Kill them all Brothers! Suffer not the Alien to live" came the order.

To signify his compliance, Sabaan opened fire.

>> in the face of the xenos, there can only be annihilation<< The Baotican Canticles echoed through his mind. As Bolt shells raced towards the target, the Techmarine reached down with his cybernetic right, bringing up his combat knife. Blessed bolter fire and sanctioned steel would cleanse this place of xenos foulness and organic weakness.

Readying a combat knife as a basic weapon should be a free action...

Burst fire is aimed at Genextealer 7 to cover Greysight

Tyber stood his ground against the false thing, his armour sending warning messages of active targeting auspex systems on him, hand still gripping his bolt pistol, ready to draw it in a heartbeat. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath, centering himself and slowing the world for a moment.

Thump-thump

He opened his eyes, tightening his grip.

Thump-thump

He slowly angled the grip back, while taking off the safety.

Thump-thump

A burst of static in his ears as the squad level vox crackled to life from Vaidan urgent call before going dead again:

+Tyber come in, we are under Genestealer attack at the palace. We will need your assistance.+

In a split second, Tyber released his hold on his pistol, locking the safety back on and replacing the locking strap. He ignighted his jump pack to start heading back while letting those with him hear over the team level vox network +It would see the other need our assistance, Gene stealers have made their appearance at the palace. We can leave this for now, we must hurry.+

Slamming back down onto a roof top, he began the leaping run, unsure how much time it would take or if his brothers would still be alive when he makes it to the palace.

Glass rained down upon them. Shards cascaded around him, some so small as to barely count as shards of glass, others, large enough to impale humans upon, shattered and splintered as they impacted harmlessly upon his ceramite-encased frame.

No sooner had the first shard began to come loose as the stained glass cupola above them began to shatter and the sound of it registering that Solastions grip upon his chainsword immediately tightened and started to draw the weapon out of hypno-conditioned and well honed combat reflexes.

As the situation crystallized itself around him Solastion heard the orders given: engage hostile genestealers. He would have preferred to avoid collateral damage but, as a Space Marine, that was rarely an option they could afford.

Staying close to Akkad and his Heavy Bolter -  a good thing his reflex to not leave the Devastator unsupported kicked in - Solastion drew his bolt pistol and took aim at the Genestealer that had landed the closest amongst them and pulled the trigger; the staccato of two bolt shells ringing through the spacious and grand room they were in lost in the cacophony of violence, panic and fear.

Solastion will take the Half-Aim action and fire his Bolt Pistol Semi-Auto at genestealer 7 who should be within the 30m effective range of the weapon to not incur a distance penalty.

GENESTEALER 6 | AG60 (6 + 1) = 7 | WOUNDS 20 / 20

After that hideous moment of silence, the screams start. The nobility are faced with something they have up until now only heard about on wintry nights, in tales told to scare children to bed. The grim reality, however, is far worse. The snicker-snack of bladed bone slicing through flesh and the arcing sprays of blood tell their own stories.

The Storm Son's shots take the closest genestealer in the lower torso, mutagenic acid hissing and bubbling through chitinous armour. The xenos creature is bisected, its legs torn from its body and the twitching, multi-limbed torso sent crashing to the ground, the mosaic floor beneath hissing and bubbling.

++Brothers! Form up!++ Solastion as second commanded out to the squad to reform.  Vaidan's clarion call to commit wholesale slaughter rang in his ears.

He sighted a Stealer close to the squad, noting how the others had applied fire onto the nearest threat.  The humans were buying them time with their panicked flailing as the monsters in their midst carved them up like ripe meat.  Disgust pulled the trigger more than his finger muscles did.  Beneath him, Lord Vortis curled into a foetal ball.

As Sabaan had acknowledged before him, Akkad followed suit.

EDIT:

Slips, just from your post I think you think you're "S" - I realise the confusion.

For total clarity:

and are Vaidan and Albikus, who were originally speaking to the governor.

D and S are Daon Akkad and Sabaan, who were originally talking to Lord Vortis.

G is obviously Greysight.

Edited by Commissar Molotov

THE GOVERNOR'S REPLY was cut abruptly by a blizzard of crystalline splinters, millions of razor-sharp slivers that rained down upon the kill-team, clattering harmlessly against their ceramite armour. The Syndallan nobility was less fortunate, robed backsides and arms were sliced to ribbons as the hapless group instinctively tried to protect their vital organs. A man screamed as he was impaled through his collarbone by a glass shard the size of his forearm.

Several hulking shapes followed the storm of glass, coalescing into existence from the torrential night, some plummeting onto the mosaic flooring of the ballroom, whilst others chittered as they poured across the ancient frescoed ceiling with viciously hooked claws.

Genestealers.

The alien horrors did not wait to begin their systematic slaughter, scything and shearing through the shrieking humans with inhuman speed and dexterity.

'Kill them! Kill them all Brothers! Suffer not the alien to live!' yelled Sergeant Vaidan.

At the far end of the ballroom, Greysight spied the power-armoured form of Governor Orlai fleeing from the carnage through an access corridor.

‘Sergeant! The Governo-‘

Greysight's warning was cut short as one of the foul creatures suddenly dropped from the ceiling onto one of the armed guards with a sickening crunch, the weight of the genestealer shattering bones and rupturing organs. In her death throes, the guard’s finger depressed the trigger of her lasgun, indiscriminately hosing the cowering or fleeing nobles.

Crouching on top of the heaped corpse, the
genestealer tensed like a tightly wound coil, ready to spring at the Storm Son and crack the ceramite armour like a cooked egg with its hooked claws. It leapt.

And died.

Two hellfire rounds punched through hardened bio-carapace, the mutagenic acid that so effectively killed greater horrors aboard the Voice of Thunder bisected the
genestealer in two, its separated torso and twitching legs flopping onto the intricate mosaic floor of the ballroom with an undignified thud.

Greysight
was already moving as the kill team converged into the middle of the ballroom to form a defensive cordon. He would have to trust his brothers, the governor must not get away.

Death.

Death to the foul beasts.  The Killteam scythed down the alien menace, one by one, unleashing a hail of firepower that nothing could withstand.  As Greysight broke and ran after the Governor, Akkad switched targets.  Another Stealer was charging the loose ring of Marines, wounded it could still inflict casualties.  He remembered the horror of the death-strike, a reflexive thrust that could plough right through blessed power armour and genhanced human as if they were nothing.  This could not be allowed.

He tried to minimise human casualties - not out of sympathy but out of practicality - the pressing humans were keeping the Stealers back and giving Greysight the room he needed to chase down the Governor.

Akkad gruffed a tight laugh.  What a perfect thing.  The Huntsman on the chase.  A lightning bolt about to strike.

Cadence twitched under his ministrations as he fired - the death blow did not come as both of the Stealer's arms were torn off in bloody eruptions of gristle and alien bone.  The Stealer carried on a few feet, following the urges hard-coded into it's essence.  It looked at him with pus-yellow eyes, twinkling yellow diamonds filled with malevolent intellect.  For a moment he got the odd feeling it recognised him, hearing again the faint, now thankfully, chattering and roaring of hungry Tyranid maws.  With the last will of a race of sentient predators, its jaw seized around the back of the head of a young noble, shearing the skull from the shoulders in a welter of crimson gore.

Vaidan grinned as two of his Hellfire Bolts shredded a Genestealer and it came apart in a welter of hissing acid and alien bodyparts, the rest of the Kill Team was making a good account of themselves as more Genestealers were taken out. One of the aliens started running towards the corridor that the Governor had sprinted down and Vaidan fired a semi automatic burst towards it keeping it away from the corridor ensuring Greysight would reach the Governor without interruption. He who allows the alien to live shares its crime of existence.

GM: After Vaidan's turn, either Akkad or Solastion may automatically enter squad mode (Greysight and Sabaan would have to wait until their next turn.)

...Tracking...

By the the time Greysight' s armoured form moved through his field of fire, one of the xenoforms was already dead, eaten from the inside by the bioalchemcal fury of the hellfire rounds. It's targeting rune went dark. Servos whirred as Sabaan brought his bolter to bear on another target further down range. The Genestealer cut a bloody path through the panicking mortals. Sabaan saw an opening in the press of bodies, adjusted and released a burst of boltshells as soon as the mass of yelling, wide eyed humans allowed him a clear shot.

Contrary to common belief, the Iron Hands did not dismiss the value of human life.

At this particular moment, Sabaan entered exacting values into the Calculus. Values which were describing the amount of time (with consideration given to sidereal delay to the absolute of Olympus Main Time) each human life was delaying the xenos in reaching the killteam and forcing a less desirable confrontation at close quarters.

Also, there was the issue of ammunition conservation to consider.

Two boltshells connected as the Genestealer reared itself up to leap, striking the less protected lower torso. In it's hurry to reach the Killteam, it had waded into the throng of humanity and now found itself unable to evade the incoming bolter fire. Two deep, wet thumps were lost in the general cacaphony. Then, the mass reactive warheads detonated, sending fragments of organs into the upper chest area, rupturing muscle tissue and nerve endings. The stealer crashed down, effectively paralyzed above the waist. Bleeding, screeching, it thrashed around as it fell still managing to maim several humans unlucky or unable enough to get clear of the flailing thing in their midst . It snarled it's frustration as tried in vain to rise again, to push forward. It's claws slipped on a growing puddle of it's own blood , unable to gain a grip. It managed to claw into a fleeing noble, who toppled backwards onto the stealer, both crashing down. It was not going to get anywhere fast now. While not completely neutralized, Sabaan lowered it's targeting priority rating in the Calculus.

Shifting his position, the Iron Hand selected another red bracketed hostile xenos clawing through the mass of dull yellow marked mortals towards the sprinting form of the Storm Son (marked as "less potential hostile" in a vivid orange). Another whirr of fluid, sharp motion brought the Boltgun to bear. His auto-senses and armour spirit projected a viable targeting solution. Once more, Sabaan fired. Short, controlled bursts of bolter fire streaked towards the target. And missed.

Short-lived spheres of red mist, multi colored fabric and organic tissue blossomed in the crowd. The xenos evaded them, still advancing towards it's prey.

Curses over vox feed and the indistinguishable sound of bolt detonations in unprotected organic matter told him that the xenos had adapted their approach.

His target was a blur among the crowd, even pushing and pulling bystanders deliberately around it's lurched form to disrupt the Space Marine's field of fire.

GENESTEALER 5 | AG60 (6 + 5) = 11 | WOUNDS 20 / 20

KHYBER VAIDAN (SQUAD) | AG39 (3 + 8) = 11 | WOUNDS 9 / 14 (20) | FATE 2

DAON AKKAD (SQUAD) | AG45 (4 + 6) = 10 | WOUNDS 22 / 22 | FATE 2

GENESTEALER B | AG60 (6 + 3) = 9 | WOUNDS 20 / 20

SOLASTION ALBIKUS (SQUAD) | AG33 3 + 2) = 5 | WOUNDS 23 / 23 | FATE 3

'ORLAI!' YELLED GREYSIGHT, pursuing the planetary governor through the corridor from the ballroom. Behind, the repercussive thwump, thwump, thwump of Daon Akkad's heavy bolter merged with the staccato rounds of the kill-team and the disconcerting shrieks of the genestealers.

It pained the Storm Son to flee from his brothers, but the governor's conspicuous exit from the genestealers' ambush did not bode well for the mission. If the governor took flight out of fear, then recovering him safely was a primary objective. Orlai was the planetary governor after all. However, if the governor and his house were complicit in the secessionist conspiracy, then it made him a priority target.

Greysight rounded the corner at speed. Ahead loomed a palatial corridor in the High Imperial style, lined with ornate marble busts and an elaborate scarlet carpet that terminated with a modestly sized but ornately cast iron door, bearing the sigils of the Imperium and the wheat sheaf motifs of the Syndallan nobility.

The Storm Son slowed his pursuit and stopped in front of the door. To rush now potentially invited certain death, if on the other side more of the foul creatures lurked. Pressing himself against the door, he amplified his helmet's aural receptors. There was no obvious return.

Greysight took a step back and with a muttered oath, kicked the door with all his strength. The door buckled under the sudden impact, a twisted gap filling with a soft burnished glow from beyond.

Grunting, Greysight kicked again.

And again.

Im assuming I cant use first aid in combat? :tongue.: If Solastion can, he will attempt to do so on Vaidan.

If thats not the case, Solastion gets angry; one might say, frenzied even (Free action due to being a Sanguinary Priest) and will charge into the Genestealer engaging Vaidan attacking him with his Chainsword; Damage should be <chainsword damage> + 14 [10 (SB5x2) + 3 (PA2 + History 1 + frenzy 1)].

While Frenzied, Solastion gains: +10 to WS, S, T and WP but -20 BS and Int. With his Battle Rage Talent, Solastion can still attempt to Parry while seeing Red.

In this scenario, Solastion will almost go into a true frenzied berzerker rage forgoing his own self-preservation as he attempts to kill them all as fast as possible due to them being the reason for his greatest perceived failure and shame.

Will update once home!

As a Free Action, Solastion will enter a Frenzy (+10 WS, S, and T, -20 BS and INT) and then perform a charge action on the Genestealer Engaging Vaidan for a +20 to his WS.

Charge!: 1d100 87 going to FP reroll that!

FP reroll: 1d100 49 vs WS 76 (46 + 10 + 20) for 2DoS.

Chainsword Damage: 2#1d10+17 23 23; 23 Rending Damage, Pen 3 to the 49 -> 94 Left Leg

Seeing his Squad Sergeant and brother in arms get struck by one of the creatures that had cost him - and his chapter - so much, memories of his past failures flashing momentarily before him, causes the Sanguinary Priest to fly into a rage. With a roar of unbridled fury, the Crimson Knight blurred into action.

Though he was close to the Sergeant, Solastion still put his full force behind his charge at the beast, any caution thrown to the wind as the bodily came to the aid of Vaidan who was still wounded. Somewhere, in the back of his mind, beneath the overiding desire to KILL THE XENOS before him, he hoped that by being a bigger threat the sergeant would be all but ignored.

With a vicious downward swing, Solastion brought his chainsword roaring onto the foul alien; the adamantine-toothed chain roaring loudly within the room drowning out nearly all other sounds in their immediate vicinity as he attempted to bifurcate the genestealer.

He was out for blood and vengeance.

Seeing the enemy barely 10 metres away and unable to prevent it's charge, his HUD registering the damage done to blessed plate and the brothers of his Squad, Akkad looked down at the cowering human beneath him.

Akkad will invoke his Personal Demeanour: Maelstrom Warders.

He had a million plans laid out to combat and turn the battle here as it had been turned against them, so quickly - that malign intelligence adapting, thinking, outsmarting.  A voice called into his head, subtly at first.

"And do you think they care about them, little Lion?"

The Space Wolf.

The man he had fought beside.  The man whose awesome power and good-natured heart he had witnessed, his wholesome way, with no politics, no chicanery.  He could almost imagine them sitting together on the docks in Symetra - fishing together.  The voice was stronger now - almost demanding.

"Maybe you should hold them this time?"

Thorvald.

His left foot snaked forward, toecap turned in, knee bent to protect the groin, without him thinking it.  Cadence dropped to his side, snarling and angry as she knew what was coming. - now, right foot back, bent, rest the weight on the ball of the foot for power from hips.  Now, Sonnet was in his hand, his combat knife the other, elevate to protect the head and still low enough to see, blade point down, pistol barrel canted slightly to port.

As the Mantis Warriors had taught him.  As he had mastered.  Their distinctive hand-to-hand combat pose, Mantisae Religiosa.

Here he would stand and here he would hold, as the Astral Claws had for five long millennia.  As his Warder brethren did still.

As he and Thorvald had for long, long minutes.  He risked a quick vox to Solastion.

+It's a shame we have no crates eh?+

He glanced down to the cowering human between his legs.

+Dominar Vortis, hic gladius vester creatura Filius.  Sta mecum, et sanguinem eis. Per Imperator et nos Filius.+

Akkad's armour has the "Cower Not Before the Enemy" trait, giving +10 to command tests. (All Marines have Command as basic/trained) Akkad will use this to inspire the Lord Vortis to help him fight and gain Outnumbering against the Stealer for +10 WS for them both.
Fel: 48 +10 = 58
D100: 52 Pass, no DoS

Akkad will attempt to intimidate Genestealer 5 into attacking him using Command as well:
Fel: 48 +10 = 58
D100: 33 Pass, 2 DoS

He looked into the smouldering golden eyes of the alien horror.  Vox set to full and he filled his lungs, a Master Sergeant now and always and this: this was his parade ground.

++Come now to me and die filth!  Die in the name of the Emperor!++

Akkad will now assume full action: Defensive Stance.

Enemies are at -20 to hit on WS and he gains +1 Reaction until his next turn, but cannot attack.

MR.

Another Genestealer dropped down in front of Vaidan and lunged at him, he attempted to dodge but the injuries sustained on the Voice of Thunder slowed his reactions just enough for the Genestealer to smash its claw into his torso he felt it slice through his black carapace and crack into his fused rib cage. The pain was monumental and he yelled out both in fury and agony, the damned Xenos had reopened his wounds and undone Solastions work. The thing seemed to enjoy his pain as he met its disgusting yellow eyes Vaidan managed a smile and snarled "Is that the best you can do monster?"

He noticed Solastion charging to his aid and as the Genestealer savoured his pain he maglocked his bolter to his hip and drew his combat knife, he waited for the Angel to strike then plunged his combat knife towards the Genestealers gut.

"Brother Solastion once this is done I may need a lie down or a very strong drink. That thing has made a mess of your handiwork."

Free action: Draw combat knife
Free action: holster bolter
Half action: Delay action
Half action: Standard attack using combat knife
WS 53 (+10 ganging up with Solastion) vs 1d100 26 for 2DoS
Combat knife damage: 1d10 = 5 + STR 10 = 15 Pen 2
Fate Point heal 1d10 = 6

Round 3, Continued:

GENESTEALER A | AG60 (6 + 9) = 15 | WOUNDS 20 / 20

GENESTEALER C | AG60 (6 + 9) = 15 | WOUNDS 20 / 20

GREYSIGHT (SOLO) | AG43 (4 + 10) = 14 | WOUNDS 22 / 22 | FATE 3

GENESTEALER 4 | AG60 (6 + 5) = 11 | WOUNDS -7 / 20 (STUNNED, BLEEDING)

GENESTEALER 5 | AG60 (6 + 5) = 11 | WOUNDS 20 / 20

KHYBER VAIDAN (SQUAD) | AG39 (3 + 8) = 11 | WOUNDS 9 / 14 (20) | FATE 2

DAON AKKAD (SQUAD) | AG45 (4 + 6) = 10 | WOUNDS 22 / 22 | FATE 2

GENESTEALER B | AG60 (6 + 3) = 9 | WOUNDS 20 / 20

SOLASTION ALBIKUS (SQUAD) | AG33 3 + 2) = 5 | WOUNDS 23 / 23 | FATE 3

Greysight:

As the corridor abruptly deviates right, it is momentarily hard for the Storm Son to follow it. A mere moment, perhaps, but it is enough. You catch a glimpse of the governor disappearing behind a metal door. Solid, but not of the sort one might find on an armoured bunker. It is, however, inconveniently placed in your way such as to slow down your pursuit of the governor.

Sabaan:

Delayed

Genestealer 4:

Stunned (2 rounds remaining) and does not act.

Genestealer 5 / Daon Akkad:

This particular xenoform stands low, adopting an almost lupine gait as it weighs up the situation. It sees the Devastator drop his heavy bolter to the side, raising bolt pistol and combat blade. Its head cocks to the side, malicious intelligence considering the scenario. Then, with the slightest push it is off, loping towards Akkad on clawed feet.

Genestealer 5 charges Akkad.

Beneath the Astral Claw, the supine form of Lord Vortis holds his hands out in front of his face at the sight of the Genestealer-menace drawing closer, and closer.

"No!" he shouts, "No! No!"

The craven attitudes of the nobility might not have been a surprise to Akkad, but what happens next most certainly is. A burst of searing heat, and a flash of light that momentarily overloads the autosenses of the Devastator's helm.

Lord Vortis fires a digital weapon (inferno pistol) at Genestealer 5:

BS40 (+30 Point Blank Range): 19 (HIT)

Damage: 2D10+12 E (Pen 12) (6,8) = 26 Damage

Genestealer 5 has Armour 6 (0) and TB6: 20 Damage

Genestealer 5 has 0 Wounds Remaining

Akkad's auto-senses restore near-instantly, enough to see Vortis with his eyes squeezed shut, his face turned away from his outstretched hand and the ornate ring upon his finger - the digital weapon outstretched towards the Genestealer - or at least towards its sizzling form, slumped in a bloody sprawl on the ballroom floor. Some vestige of life remains in its corpse - you see its chest rise and fall and the hunf hunf as it blows air out of its nostrils, but it is critically wounded.

Genestealer B:

Genestealer B charges Solastion (+10WS)

WS65 (+10 Charge) = 84 (MISS)

Solastion Albikus:

Free action to enter Frenzy:

WS46 (+10 Frenzy) = 87 (MISS)

Fate Point Reroll = 49 (HIT)

Damage: 23 (Pen 3)

Genestealer B attempts to dodge on AG60(+10): 63 (PASS)

Khyber Vaidan:

Half-Action: Delay

Standard Attack using Combat Knife against Genestealer A

WS53: 26 (2 DoS)

Genestealer A attempts to dodge on AG60(+10): 84 (FAIL)

Combat Knife Damage: 1D10 (5) + 10 = 15 (Pen 2)

Genestealer A has Armour 6 (4) and TB6: 5 Damage

Fate Point spent to heal 6 wounds: 15 Wounds remaining

Round 3, Continued:

GENESTEALER C | AG60 (6 + 9) = 15 | WOUNDS 20 / 20

GREYSIGHT (SOLO) | AG43 (4 + 10) = 14 | WOUNDS 22 / 22 | FATE 3
NYCAX SABAAN (SOLO) | AG43 (4 + 10) = 14 | WOUNDS 12 / 22 | FATE 3

GENESTEALER 4 | AG60 (6 + 5) = 11 | WOUNDS -7 / 20 (STUNNED, BLEEDING)

GENESTEALER 5 | AG60 (6 + 5) = 11 | WOUNDS 0 / 20

KHYBER VAIDAN (SQUAD) | AG39 (3 + 8) = 11 | WOUNDS 15 / 15 (20) | FATE 1

SOLASTION ALBIKUS (SQUAD) | AG33 3 + 2) = 5 | WOUNDS 23 / 23 | FATE 2
Edited by Commissar Molotov

None too pleased to have seen the Genestealer react just in time to avoid his blow, Solastion attempts to kill it again using the momentum of his first downward swing to aid him in quickly delivering another vicious swing at the beast.

All-Out Swing + Outnumbering: 1d100 74 vs WS 46 + 20 (all-out) + 10 (frenzy) = 76 for barely a straight success

Tearing Damage: 2#1d10+17 27 24; 27 Damage + Righteous Fury!

Righteous Fury: 1d10 1; 1 extra damage - Boo!

Total of 28 Rending Damage, Pen 3

"Brother Solastion once this is done I may need a lie down or a very strong drink. That thing has made a mess of your handiwork."

++IT WILL PAY WITH ITS LIFE! BLOOD FOR SANGUINIUS!++ comes the rege-filled retort; loud enough to be barely audible through the Sanguinary Priests Helmet. Solastion did not even register the melta weapon discharge that occurred behind him, blink-dismissing the Auto-Sense HUD alert by pure trained reflex.

Edited by Slips

That stunned silence.  Akkad was grateful to his helm for hiding a partially open mouth.  He reached down gently and patted Vortis on the shoulder.  In cowardice the human had balled himself up and panic had discharged the weapon.  The Marine smiled quickly, coldly.  The fact he had saved them both a good mauling erased all of that.  His voice therefore, when it came, was respectful, sincere and despite the vox grille distortion, was soft.

His words were short and motions fluid, his team was still in peril.

+Impressive My Lord.  Your gesture of defiance shames me.  The Emperor Protects.+  He stood up from his crouch and Sonnet spat once towards the prone Stealer, blasting gore and fragments of skull all over the black-veined marble floor.

+The kill is yours Vortis, it has been an honour!+

With that he turned, to make sense of the tableau behind him, praying he did not stand alone and was not too late.

.... restored-

As he sought to establish an alternative, more effective targeting solution another group of Genestealers broke from cover. One of them landed close by, hunched low, hissing. Too close. It immediately launching itself against the armoured form of the Techmarine, using it's momentum for full effect. It was a credit to the blessed design of the Adeptus Astartes, that Sabaan was even remotely capable of anything resembling an attempt to evade the strike. An attempt doomed to failure. The speed of the killing strike and the sheer mass of his armoured form allowed for no other result. Sabaan felt the sound of the blow ringing through his body as it connected.

His Armour spirit roared in anger and frustration as the claws of the Genestealer struck just below the chest plate, cunningly aiming for a weak spot. Ceramite cracked. Sabaan could feel parts of his enlarged rib casing carve inwards as both bone and augmented alloys were subjected to overwhelming kinetic force. With a visceral grunt, the Iron Hand staggered back from the force of the bow and dropped on his right knee....

Warning runes swam through his vision. Angry red, pulsing, pixelating, they eclipsed even the red bracketing around the leering xenoform nearby. Had he been mortal, the blow would have easily carved him in half. As it was the damage was still substantial. He could feel the taste of circulation fluid in what remained of his oral cavity. From the internal readouts, some was also collecting in his lower right pulmo. Quite substantial. But not critical. His genenhanced organics was already stopping the bleeding. Autosanguine nanoservitors worked through his frame. His augmentics were rerouting. He turned his head slightly, focusing his optical array on the xenos.

His cybernetic gaze met the sick black gaze of the alien. There was malice there, a demented intellect that seemed to savour the moment, delaying the killing blow to seek satisfaction in his imminent doom.

>> How pathetically organic <<

His Armour raged. Sabaan felt his own ire rising. The mere existence of the Genestealer species and the wider Tyranid xeno strains as such were both insult and blasphemy to the workings of the Great Maker in and by themselves.

This particular subject however, had violated the purity of his Armour, of his augmented frame and in such the purity of the Living Ancestors that had allowed him to continue to serve the Will of the Primarch, the Omnissiah and the Emperor. It was stain to his personal achievements and a testament to his weakness, as he had allowed it to violate the purity of the machine in the first place.

It needed to be purged. Utterly annihilated for the transgression of daring to exist in the face of mankind and the chosen of the Imperium. Of daring to even assume the illogical notion of being capable of continuing it's mission of organic corruption. Of daring to strive for victory in the face of one blessed by the Great Maker.

Just as he could not allow himself the sin of failure here, in the face such an organic blasphemy of all things . Such weakness could not, would be allowed. It was anathema to every molecule of Sabaan's existence.

>> In the face of the alien, there can be only annihilation<<

If there was anything organic worth preserving in the genenhanced, psycontioned and cyborged state of being Sabaan strove to achieve, it was the feeling of pure, unadulterated, blessed hatred. He channeled it now, feeling it rise from the core of his being. He forced it along pathways of Iron and silicate, shaped it by the Creed of Iron into a silent roar that overwrote the dull memory of pain, of doubt, of weakness in a way no neurodisruption node or combat stimm could hope to match. It purified his body as he willed his augmentations to repair what damage he could. He then let it flow up, outward as he suddenly lunged forward. The combat blade shot forward, upward, aiming for the soft midriff of the leering Genestealer.

Sabaan was fast. The Genestealer was faster. It leapt , up, easily clear of the slashing combat blade. It sprang upward, forwards, aiming at Sabaan 's now unprotected head.

It drew back it's four arms, preparing for the killing blow. Two of the arms were still covered to their elbow joints in the milky white of Sabaan's circulatory fluids . Sheer killing joy beamed from alien eyes.

>> As predicted <<

With a whirl of servomotors and pulsing myomeric muscle fiber, the Servoarm swung over Sabaan's shoulder. Now airborne, the Genestealer was unable to bring it's physical prowess into play and thus doomed to the laws of gravit and momentum.

A thunderclap of displaced air and concussive organic displacement rang through the hall. The stink of ozone and burned flesh supplemented it as the Servo-Arm punched into the descending frame of the Genestealer at full force. It backhanded the xenos and sent it downwards, crashing. Ichor and pieces of chitinous armour plating scattered. The thing snarled in pain and frustration. It's already misshapen form now bend in even more unnatural ways, it tried to recover and attempted to launch itself the Iron Hand once more in a last, suicidal frenzy...
