Kill Team Returns! Show me what you got!

I got so excited by my KT games that I painted a Tyrannid team yesterday (using my Space Hulk genestealers) in order to spread the game in my local hobby group !

I'll be able to present the game with DW vs Nids  :biggrin.:

tyrann10.jpg

9 genestealers including Leader with toxin bags, combat specialist with acid maw, a scout and a veteran specialist

100 pts !

It'll be fun I think ^^

Guardsmen are the next team up I'm playing, I'm using my renegade guardsmen that I use for my pallid hand DG, I think adding guard for meat shields should be good so it keeps the heat of your Tempestus keeping into a good firing spot or into good charge range.

I've noticed that having a team of 10 while can get broken quickly can wear down the opponent if you can concentrate fire on 1 to 2 guys a turn and camping them on objectives.

Death Guard are lucky with Cloud of Flies tactic

Here's my astra militarum kill team , made from my existing collection

It's an infantry squad consisting of:

sergeant with bolt pistol & power sword [leader] - need to swap his laspistol with a bolt pistol.

2x troopers with lasguns

1x trooper with lasgun & vox [comms]

I'm thinking of taking the tempustus sergeant (the commissar model) out, and making him my alternate leader.  Not sure what I would put in instead - either a tempustus with hotshot lasgun or 2x infantry squad troopers with lasguns.

I gave myself the challenge of rolling for all my unbuilt specialists demeanours before consrtucting them and then tried modelling them thereafter. In this case it's just two burna boyz but I highly recommend people trying it out. It's just a fun little way of giving your everyday models a little bit extra personality and attention.

1, Blokrotz Drakka - Light-fingered - Veteran
I just gave this guy as much extra gear I could somewhat reasonably fit onto the model. The fact that he's a veteran and can as such move before the start of the game makes a lot of sense considering this guys is going to vacuum up a lot of good loot.

2, Zogwarp Facebiter - Foul Gob - Demolitions
I wasn't entirely sure how to model an ork as unusually crude but a shouting mouth, raised gun and some greenstuff-fingers later and I think the point comes across

And here's the entire team I'll bring to a game tomorrow.

20180825 100106 3 Min

It consists of a:
Boss Nob with big choppa & slugga - Leader
Burna boy - Veteran
Burna boy - Demolitions
Ork boy gunner with big shoota - Heavy
7x Ork boyz with shootas
5x Grots with blastas

By the way, does anyone know how the order of some of the Scouting phase stuff is supposed to play out? Does "Scout Out Enemy Forces" take place before or after "Take Forward Positions"?

I've done up a Fallen Kill Team.

Seems like the perfect ruleset to field a small band of Fallen - lurking in the shadows sowing disent as they pursue agendas known only to themselves, aided by a band of fanatically disciples converted to their cause.

I will be running them as Heretic Astartes, though with a few more marines could also try them as Adeptus Astartes. Need to add a few more models to make up the full roster, but I'm really happy with how they are turning out - mostly in that my initial vision of them has ended up more or less on the models haha.

Amazing. I love the plague doctor looking guy.

I hope to see more.

I'm painting up some Krieg models I acquired like 1000 years ago. I'm pretty excited! Krieg Engineers are standing in for Scions. I'm disappointed we don't have access to Zealot, since I'm planning on using a Commissar for my Guardsman Sergeant. Also really wish we had Rough Riders profiles!

Hmm,

your idea of using them as adeptus astartes made me think, could you just kitbash some more cultists with adeptus astartes weapons and run them as scouts? I think those would be Super cool scouts, shotguns.. bolter, ccw&pistol...

What do you think?

If you beefed them up a bit and changed out the weapons that could definitely work.

My only sticking point is more fluff I suppose - Scouts come across as more tech with all their camo cloaks, sniper rifles, goggles, etc. I play Space Marines in 40k so am enjoying having the cheap cultists, so for me I'll keep them as Heretic Astartes.

Not to say it couldn't be done though! It is definitely a cool angle you can take with the Fallen/Cypher - it's unclear who they fight for (if anyone)

I finally got the minimum finished to give me a fairly workable roster, plus some HQs in case we expand into Commanders. I've been officially dubber crazy for going with this chapter and paint scheme by hand...

This 100pt Kill Team is an homage to the Battle at the Farm, built on Primaris E2B bodies with various bits and bobs from Tactical marines, a Custodes head and a boltstorm fist from the DI boxed set - what would Fists be without a kickass powerfist? I hope you like the team, it's my first ever foray into sponging power armour.
