Vash113 Posted March 22, 2018 Share Posted March 22, 2018 Warhammer Live just dropped this a few minutes ago: A new Knight Castellan Looks like it might only be a little taller than a normal Knight, and bulkier, sporting two twin meltaguns, two twin light battle/autocannon things, two single-use missiles, a huge plasma cannon, and some kind of mini-volcano cannon looking thing. Well I expect it won't be out for a few months, Necrons aren't out for a few more days, Dark Eldar are the next few weeks, and Harlequins and Deathwatch were both announced and I get the feeling those will come before the Imperial Knights, plus somewhere in there the Idoneth Deepkin. We may be looking at a July or August release, maybe later, so I think we have a few months. Regarding the faceplate...my best guess, they reused many knight parts (at least in CAD, maybe in size), the size should stay the same (in the vid, next to the armigers, it looks like it). My guess would be its face will be done identical, and faceplates interchangeable. Two hunter-killer missiles (but probably aren't exactly) Four Taurox-style smaller battlecannons Four meltaguns (yeah, I'm not going near THAT with another walker...) What is probably a plasma chieorovile (might be too small to be a cannonade but is much larger than a culverin, going by Ad Mech nomenclature) And what might be a magna lascannon similar to/smaller than what the Porphyrion uses (or solar pattern las like the Thanatar) I can't see anything smaller for point defence so that might be it... Thinking about it, it's amazing that Imperial Knights have gone from a barely remembered relic of Epic 40k into a hugely popular faction in it's own right. I doesn't feel like a long time since the first kit came out to me. I look forward to this new chassis even though it has so many guns. In my opinion it doesn't look like they just coated it in glue and rolled it though a bits box full of guns like the Stormtalon. And thus my five minutes of fame was offer... *sob* Still can't get over how cool it looks though, I bought and built a custodes army to take to throne of skulls in a few weeks. Now I may just take my knights, ok I don't have full codex rules yet, but throwing 2 knights and 4 Armigers round the table would be a laugh at least. synthaside Posted March 22, 2018 Share Posted March 22, 2018 Hey Hermanista , don't be down I too would be building a knight warden, if it wasn't for you, I may have even bought more than one Forgebane boxrather than waiting for the other news about the variants, finding myself in an unenviable position of having only 1 loadout.Right now I'm going to get my two Armiger up and running to a nice standard and wait for this bad boy to be my centrepiece, I wonder how many more points this is going to beright now its got to be more expensive than a fully kitted Warden , So 600 ??
