New theme for my 1500-vow. Woodland/jungle-kinda thing. All inspired by @Spaz

To the warp with this snow theme.

That base looks great, more natural than the bulky plastic vegetation in some boxes. It does risk some uncomfortable questions though:

"Honey, have you seen the oregano?" - *whistles while quickly hiding dreadnought bases*

Thank you! And that question already has been asked Edited by Johanhgg

First of the 3 scoutsquads done. On to a squad of devastators. To keep up the painting i need some variation, after the dev-squad its time for the leviathan.

Reivers, intercessors and a hellblaster in various stages of completion. After this batch i have a LT, 10 hellblasters, 10 reivers and 5 intercessors ready for shadowspear. With my 2 redemptors its a nice force!

If you pull back on the painting a tad you’ll have a great force prepped for ETL ;)

Cant slow down. Must. Continue.

Some progress tonight! Bases left and some minor details. Im thinking about if i should battledamage them, just dirty them up or leave it as it is. What you guys think?

If you're going to paint battle damage on an infantry model, you might as well decorate his base with an enemy's mutilated corpse, to show how the model received damage, and how he AVENGED his injuries. (Naturally, bloodstains are a must.)

As the Raptors are Corax's sons, some weathering- "dirtying up"- will usually suffice, as they'll be in the field for MONTHS, not polishing their war gear to minimize the chance the enemy may see them before the Raptors strike. (After all, they're not the idiotic Ultramarines, whose bright and shiny armor screams, "SHOOT ME! I'M RIGHT OVER HERE!")

@Bjorn Firewalker you are totally right! I will try some!

Completed some Raptors tonight! Restored some of the scouts after the disaster and worked on the leutenants!

I commend your work. What are the white patches on the Raptors' bases? If it's meant to be snow, the Raptors should be camouflaged appropriately, i.e., painted white.

Thank you! Yes! Its snow! But im in the process of making jungle/forest bases for the Raptors. The miniatures will be transfered to the new bases When theyre done

Almost completed 3 reivers and 2 more on the way. I managed to save the scouts from the disaster that happened before, some of them at least.

New bases, woodland/forest theme! What you guys think? Woodland or snowy rubble? Would Appreciate your input!

Camo cloaks look great! The sponge effect worked really well.

Regarding your bases:

The guys that are sideways because your bases aren't level is driving me crazy. I think it looks wonky. I think they new bases look much more complete and polished than your snow bases but I think they blend in too much with your raptors. I do like the snow that you had because it helped to provide some contrast to your models.

What if you replaced the 'moss' with snow but left the rocks and shrubs? (You're reiver bases are a good candidate) I think the snow would give you the contrast but the shrubbery/rocks would give you some of the woodland theme that matches your camo cloaks.
