Looking really good :tu:

Thanks Dantay! Very kind of you

those axes are amazing, where did you get them?

They're from the AoS chaos maraurders box so are the shields and pelt capes. They're really great if you want some viking-y gubbins

Nice plasma gun effect on latest guy.

You decided how your gonna tackle the chapter badge yet?

Cheers dude, I think that the wolf guard terminators have the chapter badge on their transfer sheet. I could be wrong but I think they're the only ones that have it. If not I'll have to see how good my free hand is. I think that the badge will come later when I've built and painted more dudes

If you are up for a little creativity, someone has done erik morkai decals on here

http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/files/file/414-space-wolves-erik-morkais-great-company-decal-sheet/

Not sure how to alter the black section to red, but I am sure someone could figure it out. you would need decal paper (type depends on kind of printer). If using inkjet, will need some decal sealant which microsol sell.

Apparently laser jet is superior, but not tried it out yet.

Not sure if that helps at all.

The small transfers must be somewhere, I used them for my Wolf Scouts. Although I've got stuff from 2nd edition so if your unlucky they are from then.

As a freehander myself this chapter badge is tricky. Doing one wolf head is hard to get consistent but doing two adds a whole new challenge with spacing. You can end up with the one wolf head crushed into the corner (see my Sons of Morkai chapter badge in my banner  ).

Those decals look great Dantay. You could paint the middle red, it would be easier than painting the wolf heads and you would have your spacing sorted. Not done decals myself but it seems like a good solution.

Some people on here do casts. If you got a two headed wolf part from the sprues you could make a blue stuff cast. Not sure how much green stuff you've done. If you managed to make a cast you would be set for your whole army. You could even make a jazzy one for your wolf guard using a more intricate two headed wolf. SW1 has done a bunch of casting for his giant space wolf production line. It's also not too late to put the green stuff on at the painting stage if you went this way. I've seen people paint the chapter badge first then green stuff trophies on after so the green stuff doesn't get in the way of the painting.

Hope this helps.

Press moulds are what you want if you get a pad sculpted. I'm currently looking for more instantmould stuff as coolmini are out of stock. Price wise greenstuffworld seem to have a very similar product but they call it blue stuff mould bars. If it's ok then I'll probably move to them as I already get my greenstuff from them.

Bluestuff is ace and re-useable.. I use it for my instamould work

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll definitely take a look at this when I'm at work tomorrow. Hopefully my hobby skills are on par to give this a try. At the very least I'll give transfers a go.

In other hobby news I got my wolf guard battle leader model done. As a wise man once said, speak softly and carry a big bloody chainsword

He looks wicked. What’s the original model on this one?

The base model is the forgeworld limited edition legion praetor: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=limited+edition+legion+praetor&safe=off&client=ms-android-om-lge&prmd=isvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwigmLKvzI7bAhWrLMAKHV-1BzsQ_AUIESgB&biw=360&bih=518#imgrc=ttrrF7NeEln9yM:

I was eyeing one up for a while but they were all like 40/50 quid on ebay but then a dude at my local club was selling it for 20 quid. Bloody steal

Well, I've finally finished the first GH squad. Got the Wolf Guard finished today just some tidying up to do, and I'm pretty pleased with how they all came out. C&C very welcome on them

For my next vow I'll go for painting up Erik and Bulgruff the Bear,  who I'll use as Erik's second in command or a Wold Guard Battle leader

Pack master with axe bothers me. Going from wood colour to a red on that shaft handle doesn’t blend well. Not to mention the side view of the axe doesn’t align straight with it shown vertically from the side. You’re better off cutting the wood out and just placing the axe head on. If that makes any sense, but that’s just my own personal opinion. What do I know LOL looks alright ignoring the axe. I do appreciate that you’ve got good flow going on that mini with the chain and fur attachments flowing the same direction not to mention the head bit you choose with his hair and beard flowing the same direction.

Runes are looking great and I like the plasma glow!!

Well done :tu:

Thanks man!

I think that if I shorten the top half of the handle and fill the gaps with a little GS next to the top of the hand it could look a lot better. I do agree that the top half is too long for the model

I've started on Erik, still WIP. I'm not too sure on what to do on the right shoulder pad. I was looking through the 7th ed codex and it doesn't say anywhere what colour/scheme it should be. I've also taken a leaf out of Dantay's book and painted the bracers leather-y ( or at least I've started to) which will then have a healthy amount of runes applied. C&C very welcome

I'm looking at making some wulfen, but with my general theme being less wolfy and more vikingy, the normal models are too wolfy for me. Does anyone know if/how well the bloodreavers scale to spacemarine legs and arms? Wulfen are very beserker-y, with beserker meaning bare chested or no shirt I thought that would make sense thematically

I'm back from my holiday and I got Erik pretty much done today, somethings to tidy up and I need to sort GS out as his head is only blu-taced on at the moment, any C&C is welcome.

Great work so far, looking forward to seeing more. I might have some of the old FW morkai transfers if your interested.

Thanks dude, I think I'm going to try the suggestions from the other guys in this thread. But if I completely screw it up, I might have to take you up on them.

Looks brilliant, although the shine on the beard needs taming a little, maybe a slightly greyer highlight on it to, just to get the braids to pop more.

Thanks man! I agree, unless he's a very sweaty guy I doubt it would be that shiny. I think I need to make the axe head pop a bit more too, it's pretty dull in comparison to most of the rest of the model.

Washes really dull  the metallics. Give the edges a very gentle highlight with runefang or stormhost silver. I you have a really steady hand also line where the axe headchanges angle to become the blade with a very thin line of the same silver maybe?

Either that or a coat f satin varnish to give it some shine.

I particularly like the shading around his eyes.
