Delta.Skies Posted June 1, 2018 Share Posted June 1, 2018 Has anybody ever created one, the only one i can recall are on the Custodians, and those bits are hard to come by. I was thinking of kitbashing a wrist mounted frag cannon. Could anybody possibly steer me in a direction other than myself ( im thinking IG grenade launcher bits ) but if there is a brighter idea I would rather go with that. Bluedoo Posted June 1, 2018 Share Posted June 1, 2018 I took a combi power fist from the FW range, filed off the combi bolter, and mounted a flamer. This was for a home brew RPG. You could probably do the same with a grenade launcher. Good luck, but after a small search I didn't see this sort of a bit for you either. Delta.Skies Posted June 1, 2018 Author Share Posted June 1, 2018 I did think of using a power fist as a base cause i was thinking that it would be a lil too much for a marine arm but didnt want the confusion that he had a power fist as well. I got a few spare sanguinary bolter arms and maybe a spare stormbolter or 2. Maybe more believable with the base of a stormbolter that it could shoot out frags. I might test this out tonight. Delta.Skies Posted June 1, 2018 Author Share Posted June 1, 2018 So i did a test run of a wrist mounted frag cannon with a grey knight stormbolter arm and the cadian shock trooper grenade launcher. my cuts are not truly ligned (lil tired and rushed through it a little) but that can be fixed if i go with it. Pretty simple, cut the barrels off the stormbolter, filed down close to the iron sight. shave the bottom a little then had to shave the side as well ( if you get the cut down to the iron sight properly straight, you dont have to do the extra part. I was inaccurate with mine. When it came to the grenade launcher, just cut to where the drum meets the hand, wanted to leave part of the launcher to look like it would actually be connected to the bolter (without it looking like a nerf mag drum truly) cute the barrel off, then cut it down again. this should now align well with the stormbolter sight to make it look like one. then i just rotated the drum counter clockwise ( easiest way to identify is where the eagle is at wanted that facing up, and it pretty much fit well in there. Pretty much just wanted to show what it would look like on a marine. To me it looks a lil clunky, but im ok with it (it is a wrist mounted grenade launcher after all, and wanted it to at least look like it would produce the stats that a regular frag cannon would put out. If I did go with this concept, I would probably just make him a standard bearer model wise to compensate the open arm. So tell me what you think, If you have any ideas i am very much open to it. Thinking about working a frag cannon into my DeepStrike team, but wanted him to look the part of his elite brethren. Had a spare arm and a thought, figured i try before the rest of my bitz come in. Dude, where were you last night before i tried this madness. Lol, thanks though that really helps. The size difference tween GK Termie Arms isnt that much of a difference are they? and the necromunda goliath launcher, seems highly plausible. just would have to get the cuts down right cause it looks like its connected to his body in general. Not too sure. Terminator Arms tend to be a bit thicker than Power Armour arms, though you could justify it as being reinforced for the weapon itself. They also have the distinctive elbow joint compared to Power Armour, so you may want to convert or otherwise hide the elbow a little. The Goliath one is actually a really nice bit. You can see from this bitz site that it's connected only to the arm itself. The only real concern you'd have is that the Goliath arm is bare flesh, as opposed to being in any kind of armour, but you can probably hide that with a bit of green stuff, converting with extra Space Marine arm bitz, and/or a good paint job. If i still go about him, He would be standard bearer. However in the general board, somebody mentioned wulfen frag cannons on the back pack. So that created that option, might have him holding and auspex scanner and knife or pointing. I might have to magnetize my elite squad if i wanna go this route. or replace 2 frag cannons in a particular squad. Ended up going with melta guns, since i could not rearrange the points to fit 2 more frag cannons in the mix without taking from others. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
