Question on Character Auruas

Greetings Brothers!

 

Can anyone help me clarify whether a character's aura applies to themselves or do these auras only apply to other units?

(e.g. Chaplain Litanies of Hate, Captain Rites of Battle, etc.)

Provided the character qualifies for receiving the aura's benefit (for example, a character that is a vehicle will not benefit from an aura that benefits infantry only), the character will benefit from his own abilities that affect units "within x inches", as the character will also be within x inches of him/her/itself.

 

For an aura not to affect the character (unless it is a keyword or unit type problem) the aura would say so explicitly, though none come to mind as doing so.

In general, yes. The auras all say what units it applies to. If the character with the aura meets the criteria, it applies to them. 

For the most part, character auras only apply to CORE units (speaking very generally) and characters usually aren't CORE, so it won't affect them. But you have to look at each aura individually to see what keywords it applies to and what keywords the units in that aura have.
