1000pts Death guard with levi dread ?

hey,

 

 First off: I am very new to the Tabletop game so i appreciate every help i get for building an army. I am collecting/painting models for about a year now but i had my first game about 2 weeks ago.

 

Next week i will have my second game, this time against Thousand Sons. (1000pts)

My Plan is to deploy my chaos lord + plague marines with plasma in the rhino to have only 5 units to deploy and to get them easy into rapid fire range.

Thanks to the Death guard trait my leviathan dread can move and shoot both heavy weapons without the minus to hit.

 

Do you guys think its a bad idea to use the levi dread in a 1000pts army ? Dont know if this is a good idea vs Thousand Sons either.

Maybe use some blightlord termis+... instead ?

Is it a dick-move to use a Forgeworld Model in a first game with someone ? xD

Levi is a beast, but opponent still have hope of crippling it in 2 or 3 lucky shots.

 

Not as ":cuss-ish" as bringing Mortarion or a Castellan to a 1000pts game.
